C: BROWN conded Councilman GEORGE A D AN ORDINANCE LEVYING'-RATES OF TAXATION UPON THE AS- SESSED VALUATION OF' THE PROPERTY IN THE CITY'FOR THE FISCAL YEAR JULY 1,'1955 TO JUNE 30, 1956. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUN. P CIL_ OF THE CITY OF PETALUMA AS FOLLOWS: 1 Section .1. The City Counell..h aping adopted its annual budget, there is hereby levied upon the assessed val. nation of the property in the, City, including the property as originally, incorporated and upon all 'property within the boundaries of the portion of the City added, thereto. subsequent to the original incorporation thereof, the following rat es,'of' taxation upon each $100. valuation of said property, to -wit: FOR DEBT SERVICE ............$ .45 FOR GENERAL' PURPOSES $1.20 TOTAL ... ----_- - - - -- -------$1.65 The Council hereby finds and de- termines that said rates of taxation are sufficient to raise the amounts estimated to be required in the an- nual budget, less the amounts to be received from fines, licenses and other sources of revenue. Section 2. This Ordinance is here- by declared to be necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety and shall take effect and be in force upon its passage by unanimous vote of the members of the City Council present at the time of its adoption. The rea- son for the urgency of this Ordi- nance is that said tax levy must be adopted not later than the first' Tues. day in September, 1955, in order to comply with the City Charter and provide funds necessary for the Ares. ervation of the public peace, health ' and safety of the people of this City.
