ORDINANCE NO. 415 IV e C. S

ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE PREPARATION OF
VEHICLE PARKING LOT ALONG THE WEST SIDE OF
"A" STREET BETWEEN 4TH AND 5TH STREETS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PETALUMA AS FOLLOWS:
Section to That a vehicle parking lot be prepared_on the
property'belonging to the City along the westerly side of "A' Street
between 4th and 5th Streets to be known as: "A Street Parking Lot"
to permit the parking of fifty - four - -(54) vehicles in parking spaces
provided for thereon. That said work shall be done in accordance
with the plan for said work entitled: r ' ' At Street Parking Lot ",
consisting of one (1) page and the specifications entitled: "General
Provisions` and "Special Provisions ", Sections i'to 12 inclusive,
,prepared by the City Engineer and filed with the City Clerk on the
3rd day of October, 1955, which said plan and specifications are
hereby approved and adopted for said project
Section 2. That the cost of said work shall be paid
from the Parking Meter Fund.
Section 3. That said work authorized by this Ordinance
shall be done by contract awarded to the lowest responsible bidder,
after advertising for bids in the manner, form and for the period
required by the City Charter.
Section 4. The Council finds that the prevailing rate
of wages, applicable to the work to be done under this Ordinance,
is as follows:

rates. The holidays upon which such
rates shall.be paid shall be all
holidays recognized in the collective
bargaining agreement applicable to the
particular craft, classification or
type of workmen employed on the project.
Section 5. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be necessary
for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety
of the City of Petaluma, and shall take effect and be in force from and
after its final-passage by an unanimous vote of the members of the City
Council present at the time of its adoption. The reason for the urgency
of this Ordinance is that said parking lot will relieve traffic condi-
tions and the hazard of accidents, and for the further reason that said
work must be done before the winter rains.

November, 1955.
I hereby certify that the whole number of members of the Council of the
City of Petaluma is seven, and that the foregoing ordinance was passed by the
Council at its meeting of the 7th day of November, 1955, by the following vote,
to -wit:
