ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 340 N. C.
S.''BY RECLASSIFYING THE PAR-
CEL OF PROPERTY KNOWN AS
A_YART OF ASSESSOR'S PARCEL
NO. 7 022 -15. 230.5 FEET ON EAST
WASHINGTON( STREET . AND 120
FEET ON PAYR AN STREET FROM
AN "R,1" ZONE OR DISTRICT TO
A "`C -1" ZONE OR DISTRICT.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUN-
CIL 'OF THE CITY OF PETALUMA,
AS FOLLONVS:,
Section 1. Th2t the' City Council
finds that the :Planning Commission
filed with the City Council on the
22nd day of July, 1955 its report, as
yet forth in its Resolution No. 29,
reconzme-nding ,against the adoption
of an amendment to the Zoning Or-
,' ip ic No. 340. C.' S. by reclassi-
fying from an` "R-1" zone or district
t,o a "GI" zone or district a hart !'.f

the northwesterly line of East Wash-
ington Street 230.5 feet to a point;

northeasterly line of Payran Street

120 feet to a point; thence .south-
westerly parallel to the northwest-
erly line of East Washington Street
distant 120 feet therefrom 230.5
feet to a point on the northeasterly
line of Payran Street; thence along
said northeasterly line of Payran
Street southeasterly 120 feet to the
point of beginning.
Section 2. That the City. Council
further finds that said Planning. Com-
mission held a hearing on said pro-
posed amendment to the Zoning Or-
dinance No. 340 N. C. S. on July 19,
1955, after giving notice of said hear-
ing in the manner, for the period and
in the form required by said Ordi-
nance No. 340 N. C. S.
Section 3. That on the 8th day of
August, 1955 the City Council adopt-
ed its Resolution No. 1535 N. C. S.-
setting the matter of said amend=
ment to the Zoning Ordinance.

of the time and place fixed, for said

Section 4. That the City Council

amendment to the Zoning - Ordinance

Section 5. That on the 19th day of
December, 1955 the City Council de-
termined that it would not folloW
the recommendations of the Plan-
ning Commission of rejection of said,
proposed amendment to the Zoning
Ordinance No. 340 N. C. S. by voting
against the adoption of Resolution
No. 1604 N. C. S. which would have
rejected said proposed amendment.
Section 6. That the Council hereby
finds that public hearings were held
on said proposed amendment to the
Zoning Ordinance No. 340 N. C. S.
hereinbefore referred to and does
now hereby find that the public
necessity,' convenience and welfare
requires that said property, referred
to and described in Section 1 of this
ordinance and on the map attached
hereto, be reclassified and rezoned
from an "R -I" zone or district to a
"C -1" zone or district.
Section 7. The City Clerk is hereby
directed to publish this ordinance in
the-Petaluma Argus Courier, the of-
ficial of the City, includ-
ing said map showing the description
of said property to be reclassified
and rezoned hereunder, for the per-
iod anrd in the manner required by
the City Charter.

within the City of Petaluma, to -wit: January 7, 1956, and that the said
Petaluma Argus- Courier is the official newspaper of the City of Petaluma.
I hereby certify that the whole number of members of the Council of
the City of Petaluma is seven, and that the foregoing ordinance was passed by
the Council at its meeting of the 16th day of January, 1956, by the following
vote to -wit:
AYES: Councilmen Bigelow, Brown, Gustafson and King.
NOES: CouncilmenAdams, Norwood and Mayor Schoeningh.
ABSENT: None.
