AN ORDINANCE .APPROVING AN-
NEXATION OF UNINHABITED
TERRITORY KNOWN AS "HOS.
PITAL ANNEXATION" TO THE
CITY OF PETALUMA, CALIFOR-
NIA.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUN-
CIL OF THE CITY OF PETALUMA
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council
hereby finds that on the 15th day
of November, 1955 Roy A. Keiser,
Frank J. Hoirup and Edna I. Hoirup,
his wife. Harvey C. Braren and Eda
fl1. Braren, his wife, John Frederick'
Schofield and Eleanore Schofield, his
wife, and the Petaluma Hospital Dis-
trict filed with the City Council their
petition requesting annexation of the
territcr :y herein described to be in-
cluded in the City of Petaluma and
(hat said persons mentioned above
were and are now owners of not less
than one - fourth of the land by area
and by assessed value of said terri-
tory, ancd all thereof is and was un-
inl,abited.
Section 2. That prior to filing said
petition fcr annexation, the Boundary
Commission of the County of Sonoma,
California, approved said petition with
remect. to the definitness and cer-
tainty of the proposed boundaries
shown in said description and the
map thereof submitted to said Com-
mission.
Section 3. On November 21, 1955
the City Council adopted Resolution
No. 1589 N. C. S. entitled, "Resolution
Proposing Annexation of Uninhabited
Territory to the City of Petaluma to
be Known as `Hospital Annexation' ".

a copy of said resolution to be pub-
lished in the Petaluma Argus Cour-
ier, a newspaper of general eircu.
lation published in this City, at least
twice, but not oftener than once a
week, and also cause a copy of said

Pr Democrat. a newspaper pub.

plication shall be completed at least
twenty (20) days prior to the date set
for hearing said petition.
Section 4. That said Roy A. Keiser,
Frank J. Hoirup and Edna I. Hoirup,
Ws wife. Harvev C. Braren and Eda
Zt. Brpren, his wife, John Frederick
Schofield and Eleanore Schofield_, his
wife. and the Petaluma Hospital Dis-
trict have filed with the City Council
their agreement and consent that said
territory to be annexed may be taxed
its nroonrtionate share to pay any
indebtedness or liability of the City
of Petaluma contracted prior to or
existing at the time of annexation.
Section 5. That the City Clerk of
the City of Petaluma caused a writ -
ten notice of said property annexe•
lion to be mailed to each person to
whom land within the territory pro -
nosed to he annexed is assessed in the
last equalized County assessment roll
available on the date the proceedings
were initiated at the address shown
on said assessment roll or as known
to said clerk, and to any person who
has filed his name and address and
the designation of the lands in which
he has any interest, whether legal or
equitable, with said clerk.
Section 6. That at the time and
Mace set for hearing protests, name-
ly, on the 16th day of January, 1956,
at the hour of 7:30 o'clock p. m. in
the Council Chambers in the City
Hall, Petaluma, California, said hear-
,Hall, was held, and no protests to said
annexation were filed and no person
appeared at said hearing to protest
said annexation.
Section 7. That all of the provisions
of the Annexation of the Uninhabited
Territory Act of 1939 have been com-
piled with and the Council hereby
approves the annexation to the City
of the property referred to and de-
scribed in said petition and known
as, "Hospital Annexation ", to the
City of Petaluma, which said pro-
posed annexation to the City, pur-
suant to said procedure and in this
ordinance, is situated in -th"e` "County
of Sonoma, State of and
the boundaries thereof are described
as follows, to wit
Lying in To 4 North, Range
7 West M. D. B. and M. and being
a portion of Sections 4 and 5 and
being more. particularly described as
follows:
Beginning at the southwest corner
of the City of Petaluma; thence from
said point of beginning and along the
south line.of- said City, south 89 35'
10" east, 2510.33 feet to the easterly
line of "B ". Street; thence south 26
20' 50" west_ 35.58 feet; thence south
89° 38' 10" east, 35.30 feet; thence
south 00' 21'. 50" west, 140.00 feet.;
thence south 89' 38' 10" east 380.00
feet: thence north 30° 57' 50" east,
127.60 feet; thence north 89° 38' 50"
east, 58.53 feet; thence on a curve
to the right with a radius of 60.0 feet
for a distance of 62.20 feet; thence
south 89' 38' 10" east, 189.56 feet, to
the Center of "D" Street Extension;
thence north 26' 20' 50" east, 35.26
feet: thence south 89° 35' 10" east,
50.93 feet; thence south 49° 50' 28"
west. 46.50 feet, to the easterly line
of "D" Street Extension; thence along
said easterly line south 9° 30' 50"
west, 466.08 feet; thence north 76°
20' 50" west, 421.35 feet, along the
northerly line of the G. W. and A. E.
Lane property as described in the
Deed recorded in Book 370 of Offi-
cial Records at page 175 Sonoma
County Records and in Book 1218 cf
Official Records at page 102 Sonoma
County Records; thence continuing
along said northerly line south 41°
42' 10" west, 269.79 feet; thence curv-
ine to the right with a radius cf
625.00 feet, for a distance of 195.44
feet: thence south 59' 37' 10" west,
219.16 feet: thence south 4 50' 4C"
west. 385.47 feet to the land of Scott
and southwest corner of said Lane
property; thence along the line of
Scott and its continuation north 89
00' 55" west, 2276.34 feet; thence north
00' 24' 50" east, 1194.56 feet, to the
point of beginning and containing
74.04 acres.
Section 8. That upon the effective
date of this ordinance ire City Cler"k .
shall immediately prepare, under seal,
a certified copy of this ordinance,
giving the date of its passage, and
transmit it to the Secretary of State.
Section 9. That upon the effective
date of this ordinance or immediate -
ly thereafter the City Clerk shall,
pursuant to Chapter 8 of Title 5,
Division 2. Part 1 of the Government
Code, file a certified copy of this or-
dinance and a map or plat describing
the boundaries of said annexation
ordered herein with the County As-
sessor of Sonoma County, and with
the State Board of Equalization.
Section 10. That, pursuant to the
requirements of Article 3, Chapter 1.
Division I of Title 4 of the' Govern-
ment Code, the City shall file with
the Recorder of Sonoma County, one
affidavit stating that all requirements
of law pertaining to the annexation .
proceedings herein have been com-
pleted, such affidavit to be accom-
nanied by a certified copy of the
boundary description as set forth in
this ordinance and by a map delinea
ting the boundaries of said annexed
property.

Petaluma Argus- Courier is the official newspaper of the City of Petaluma.

the City of Petaluma is seven, - and that the foregoing ordinance was passed by
the Council at its meeting of the 6th day of February, 1956, by the following
vote, to -wit:
