COUNCILMAN SECONDED BY COUNCILMAN Wallace A._Adams MaJ _Crzuella____ AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PETALUMA AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF ONE HUNDRED (100) OR MORE MECHAN- ICAL, PARKING .DETER HEADS AND' DESIGNATING THE FUND FROTvI WHICH SAIJD DIETERS ARE TO BE PAID. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF TIE CITY OF PETALUMA AS FOLLOWS Sec tion 1. That the City of Petaluma shall purchase one hundred (100) or more mechanical parkin; meter heads, Nineteen (19) parkin; meter heads shall be designed and operate in such a manner as to permit parking for twenty -four (24) for each U. S. penny coin and two (2) hours for each TY. So nickel coin inserted therein Eighty -one (81) parking meter heads shall.be designed and operate in such a manner as=to permit parking for twelve (12) minutes for each LT. S. penny coin and one (1) hour for each U, S. nickel coin inserted therein, Sec 2. That the contract shall be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder for the sale to the City of .the particular mechan - ical parking meter head selected by the City Council after the City Clerk advertises for sealed proposals and bids as required by the City Charter, That said advertisement. -and invitation,for bids shall require,that the bidders include in their bids the following: to The name and address of the manufacturer of the meter mechanism; 2. The total price per meter; 3. The mechanical specifications of the meter, showing the type, design,,the material used, the size dimensions of the meter mechanism; housing and other parts; 4. An explanation of how the meter operates; 56 The amount of purchase price for cash; 6. The agreement, if any, under which the meters shall be purchased subject to a trial period and the pro - visions and conditions dovering'the removal thereof -1- .�s8 in the event the City determines to discontinue use of-said meters prior to the expiration of said trial period - ; 7. The guarantees against defective workmanship and - materials specifying the duration and extent; 8. The amount, nature and duration of service furnished by the bidder, as well as the cost of such service after the expiration of the free period; 9. The accessories, the number and mount of extra meters or parts to be furnished, if any; 10,* Any other facts, information, drawings, plans or specifications pertaining to said meters which will aid or assist the City in selecting the meters to be installed; 11. Each bid shall be accompanied with a certified or cashiers check in an amount equal to ten percent (100) of 'the total amount of said bid, which said deposit shall be forfeited on the failure of the successful bidder to complete the contract within 30.days after the acceptance of said bid; 12. The allowance per each for trade -in of existing City owned 1948 Mliller 13. The total price per meter for additional parking meter heads purchased by the City during the period of one (1) year from the date of acceptance of the contract for one hundred (100) meters. Section 3, That the cost of said mechanical parking meter heads shall be paid from and charged against the Parking Meter Fund.
