STREET REPAIRS, 1956.57
NOTICE TO BIDDERS
Sealed proposals _marked "Street Repairs, 1956 -57" will be received by
the City. of Petaluma in the office of the City Clerk, City Hall, Petaluma,
California, not later than 7:30 p. m. on May 6, 1957, at which time they
will be publicly opened and read.
The work, in general, consists of cleaning, priming, placing plant mix,
and raising manholes' on the existing street surfaces on approximately one
mile of city streets as follows:
Edith Street — Madison to East Washington
Edith Street —East "D" to Jefferson
Keller Street — Washington to "A"
Fifth Street — "A" to "D"
Madison Street— Vallejo to South of Ellis_
Bids are required for the entire work herein.

Bidders are hereby notified -thmat pursuant to Section 1770 of the

All classifications omitted herein to be paid not less than $2.325 per
hour. Eight hours shall constitute a working day. All workmen shall be
paid time - and - one -half for overtime, and double time on holidays.
All bids must be accompanied either by a certified check payable to
the City Treasurer of Petaluma in an amount of at least ten per cent
(10 %) of the bid, drawn on a bank which is a member of the Federal Re-
serve System, or by a bidder's bond in a like amount executed by an
approved surety company. Such a guaranty to be forfeited should the
bidder to whom the contract is awarded fail to enter into contract.
Contractors desiring to obtain plans and specifications may do so by
contacting the City Engineer's office.
The City of Petaluma reserves the right to waive irregularities and
reject all bids.
