'KING Seconded by Councilman MILTON GUSTAFSON AN ORDINANCE MAKING TEMPOR- ARY APPROPRIATIONS FOR CUR- RENT DEPARTMENT EXPENSES, CHARGEABLE TO THE APPROPRI- ATIONS OF THE FISCAL YEAR 1457 -58 TO COVER NECESSARY EXPENSES OF VARIOUS DEPART - NTENTS, UNTIL THE ANNUAL AP-• PROPRIATION IS IN FORCE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUN- CIL OF THE CITY OF PETALUMA AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the City Council has under consideration and study the tentative budget submitted- by the City Manager, and has not made its final budget of estimated amounts required to 'pay the expenses of con- ducting the business of the City Gov- ernment for the fiscal year com- mencing July 1,- 1957, and for said mason it has become necessary to make temporary appropriations as hereinafter provided for current de- partment expenses chargeable to the ,appropriation of the fiscal year 1957- 5 3, said appropriations representing an amount sufficient to cover the iecessay expenses of the various de- j artments until the annual appropria- tion for said, fiscal year is in force. Section 2. That for the purpose ex- rressed i�i,Section '1.hereof appropria- tions are hereby made from the General Fund of the City as follows: 1. GENERAL GOVERNMENT (including all bureaus of .the Department of Fi- nance & Records, and the Departments of . City At- torney, City Manager, Mayor and City Council, City Planning Commission, Retirement and Miscellan- eous and Fixed Expen- ses) ._ .......... ___ ------ -------------- $50,000.00 2. That for the purposes ex- pressed in Section 1 hereof, an ap- propriation is hereby made from the Parking Meter Fund in 'the sum of $4,000.00. Section 8. That for the purposes expressed in Section 1 'hereof, an appropriation is hereby made 'from the Stock Revolving Fund. in the sum of $2,000.00. Section 9. That for the purposes expressed in Section 1 hereof, an ap- propriation is hereby made from the Off- Street Parking Acquisition Fund - in the slim of $1;428.09. Section 14. That for the purposes expressed in Section 'I 'hereof, an appropriation, is hereby made from the Special Gas Tax Street Improve- ment Fund in the sum of $2,500.00. Section 15. That for the purposes expressed in Section 1 hereof, an appropriation Is hereby made from Assessment District No. 3 N. S. in the sum of $10,000.00. Section. 16. That for the purposes expressed in Section 1 hereof, an appropriation_ is hereby made from Cherry Valley Sewer District in the sum of $7,500.00. Section 17. That for the purposes expressed in Section 1 hereof, an appropriation is hereby made from the 1953 Storm Water Drainage Con- struction Fund in the sum of $10.000.00. Section 18. That for the purposes expressed in Section 1 hereof, an appropriation is hereby made from Unbudgeted Reserve in the sum of $10;000.00. Section 19. This ordinance is here- by declared to be necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety of the City of Petaluma, and shall take effect and be in force from and after its final passage by an unanimous vote of the members of the City Council present at the time of its adoption. The reason for the urgency of this ordinance is: due primarily to the fact that there are no,momes appropriated for the ordinary running expenses of the City at the beginning of the fiscal year, 1957 -58, and that the passage of this ordinance is necessary to carry on the functions of the City and par- ticularly those relating to protection of life, property and health.
