Matzen AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE SALE OF SURPLUS PROPERTY AND MATERIAL BY PRIVATE SALE OR PUBLIC AUCTION AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 26 C. S. AND ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CON - FLICT HEREWITH. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PETALUMA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Upon a finding by the City Council that'certain personal pro- perty owned by the City of Petaluma is surplus and no longer, required for use by the City, and the _ same has salvage value, the City Council may direct, by resolution, the City Manager to 'sell and dispose of the same. Section 2. That the sale shall be had by the City Manager in the manner following: (a) He shall cause to be posted in the public posting place in the City Hall a general description, of the property to be sold. (b) He shall issue a .request for bids and shall sell to the highest bidder, provided. that if in his discretion it is to the best interests of the City, he shall make such sale by either public auction or private sale. (e) All sales shall be for cash. (d) He is authorized to sign bills of sale and any other papers or documents evidencing such sales for and on behalf of the City. Section 3. All monies received by the City Manager in consumating any sales, as herein provided, shall be deposited to the credit of the General Fund. Section. 4. Ordinance No. 26 C. S. and all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Ordered :Posted this 5th day of August, 1957. AYES: COUNCILMEN CRINELLA, GUSTAFSON, KING, MATZEN, MCCAUSLAND, .
