AN ORDINANCE .AMENDING CHAPTER 21 ARTICLE 1, SECTION
21. 2 OF THE PETA LUMA CITY CO -DE OF 1.958 TO PROVIDE FOR
SI= DEWA;LK SALES UNDER CONDITIONS .AS 'SET FORTH IN THE
BODY OF THIS OR`Df.NA NCE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE , COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PETALUMA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Chapter 21,' Article 1, Section 21,. 2 of the Petaluma City> Code
of 195'8 is hereby amended to read as followsf:
"Section 21., 2 Same = Stands, etc. No person shall place, erect or
maintain any business stand, advertising boards or other obstructions on any
portion of .any street or sidewalk of the City except that and not withstanding
any other provisions of this Code., the City Council of the City of Petaluma may
by resolution provide special, permission for limited sidewalk sales by the
retail. merchants of this City upon the condition that sidewalk sales shall not
exceed fw:o days in duration and further that said. sidewalk sales shall be
part of a City wide retail promotional m'ercha'ndising effort. Prior to the
holding, of an y such sidewalk sale's, permission for same must be requested
of `the City Council, ' in writing by the Chamber of Commerce or other
organization of this City representing" the merchants of this City, setting forth
therein the date requested aid such. other matter as the Council may from time
to time require. "
Section 2. The City Clerk, be, and she is, hereby directed to post
th -is.. Ordindnc'e for the period' and in the manner. required by the City Charter.
