AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF FOUR (4) NEW .1964.'MODEL AUTOMOBILES FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PETALUMA; AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the City of Petaluma shall purchase four (4) new sedan automobiles for the Police Department, which shall comply with the specifications therefor filed with the City Clerk on the 5th day of June, 1964, which said specifi- cations are hereby approved. Section. 2. That the successful bidder for the sale to the City for four (4) new sedan automobiles shall be required to accept, as a part of the consideration for said sale, the following described automobiles owned by the which shall be transferred and delivered to said successful 'bidder upon completion of the sale of said automobiles, to wit: (a) 1963 Ford Custom 300, fourk`door "sedan, Petaluma Car Number 14,. Engine or Serial No. 3J54F114205, California License Number E64011. (b) 1963 Ford Custom 300, four door sedan, Petaluma Car Number 15, Engine or Serial No. 3J5417114144, _. Califonnia License Number E640110... (c) 1963 Ford. Custom 300, four door sedan, Petaluma Car Number 16, Engine or Serial No. 3J54F114182, California License Number E64009. (d) 1963 Ford Custom 300, four door sedan, Petaluma Car Number 17, Engine or Serial No. 3J541711068, California License Number E64008. Section 3. That the total net cost of said automobile shall be paid out of the General Fund', Budget Section 100. 413. Section 4. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety and shall take effect and be in force upon its passage by unanimous vote of the members of the City Council present at the time of its adoption. The reason for the urgency of this Ordinance is that the existing automobiles are in such condition that their immediate replacement is necessary and that unless this Ordinance is immediately effective .upon its adoption, the state of the automobile market is such that replacements cannot be obtained for some months. Section 5. The City Clerk, be, and she is hereby directed to post this Ordinance for the period and in the manner required by the City Charter. Ordered posted this 5th day of June, 1964.
