AN :ORDINANCE APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNIN- HABITED TERRITORY, DESIGNAT- ED "SOUTH 'PETALUMA ANNEXA TIOK NO. 1 "' TO THE CITY OF PETALUMA. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUN- CIL OF THE CITY OF PETALUMA. AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, on- the 17th day of August, 1964, the 'Council of the City of Petaluma did pass -and, adopt Resolution No. 4099 N.C.S., giving no- Lice of the proposal to annex cer- tain uninhabited territory to the City of Petaluma, said territory be- ing therein designated as "South Petaluma Annexation No. 1 ", said Resolution describing the boun- daries of the territory proposed to be` - 'annexed - ; and WHEREAS, said Resolution No. 4099 N -C:S, 'did contain a notice of the day, hour and' place when and where the Council of the City would hear protests made by any persons owning real property within the territory proposed to be ,annexed; WHEREAS, on the 21st day of Sep - tember, 1964, AC 'the ,Hour of 7:30 o'clock p.m., in the Council ;Cham- bers in the ,City Hall of the City: of Petaluma, County of Sonoma, .State of California, said time and.place tieing the day, ,hour and place fixed in said Resolution No. 4099 N.CS. for hearing" protests of the said annexation the said City Council did _ hear , and pass upon all protests made to the proposed annexation and did determine that protests had not been ,made by the owners of ly owned 'territory pr6posea to be annexed ras'. shown by,, the last equalized assessment t roll, _ `nor by public owners of­ one -half of the value of the publicly owned terri- tory proposed' to be annexed is determined by said legislative body; and WHEREAS, said territory 'is: con- tiguous to the City of Petaluma, and is uninhabited territory in the County of 'Sonoma; NOW, THEREFORE; BE IT OR- DAINED that the ?said Council of the City of Petaluma does. hereby approve the annexation of the, ter- ritory hereinafter described to the City of Petaluma, and does hereby further ordain that the said `terri- tory be and it is hereby 'annexed to the City 'of Petaluma. That said territory, the ,annexa- tion of which to the City of Petalu- ma is herein approved, is all that territory situate in the County of Sonoma, State of„ California, more Particularly described as follows: Beginning at the Southeast cor- n6r of "D" Street and Sunny Slope Avenue intersection_, said point being - on the present Citv Of Petaluma. City Limits line; THENCE S 9° 30' 50" W 197 feet following the City Limits .along the Easterly side' of "D" Street; THENCE turning from the pres- ent City Limits line S 79° 45' E 140.93 feet; THENCE N 10° 15' E 40 feet: THENCE N 79° 45' W 50.93. feet; THENCE N 10 15' E 143.41 feet: THENCE N 10° 15' E 60.31 feet to 'the present City, Limits; THENCE along: the City .Limits N 89' 35' 10" W 63:84 feet and S 49 50' 28" W 46.50 feet to the point of beginning. I hereby certify that the whole number of members of the Council of the City of Petaluma is seven, and that the foregoing ordinance was passed by the Council at its meeting of the 5th day of October, 1964, by the following vote, to -wit: AYES: COUNCILMEN BATTAGLIA, BRAINERD, CAVANAGH,JR., COLIN, ELLIS, GANS, AND MAYOR VAN BERBER.
