HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2019-111 N.C.S. 07/15/2019Resolution No. 2019-111 N.C.S. of the City of Petaluma, California AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF SEVENTY BODY WORN CAMERAS WITH ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT AND EVIDENCE.COM, THE CLOUD -BASED STORAGE SUBSCRIPTION MASTER SERVICES AND PURCHASING AGREEMENT FROM AXON ENTERPRISE, INC., IN THE AMOUNT OF $118,200.09, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO COMPLETE THE PURCHASE WHEREAS, the City of Petaluma Police Department has determined that the need for a Body Worn Camera Program is critical to modern day policing; and WHEREAS, the City of Petaluma Police Department desires to purchase seventy new body -worn cameras and associated equipment to enhance the current body worn camera program; and WHEREAS, the City of Petaluma Police Department desires to enter into a five-year agreement with Axon Enterprise, Inc. as the vendor for the Body Worn Camera Program; and WHEREAS, the City of Petaluma Police Department desires to switch from local data servers to Evidence.com, the cloud -based storage subscription Master Services and Purchasing Agreement; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the procurement of this equipment from an open bid in accordance with Section 4.04.080 of the Petaluma Municipal Code; and WHEREAS, the City Council accepts that the Department of Justice's 2018 Body -Worn Camera Policy and Implementation Program grant will partially reimburse the City of Petaluma; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Petaluma, as follows: Resolution No. 2019-111 N.C.S. Page 1 The City Manager of the City of Petaluma is authorized to purchase seventy body worn cameras with associated equipment, and Evidence.com, the cloud -based storage subscription master services and purchasing agreement from Axon Enterprise, Inc., in the amount of $118,200.09 Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
