1 RESOLUTION SETTING THE PRELIlVIINARY ALLOCATION OF
2 TRANSIENT OCCUPANCY TAX FUNDS TO
3 PETALUMA VISITORS PROGRAM FOR FY 97-98

5 WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution #93-294 N.C.S. which requires the setting of
6 the next fiscal year allocation of Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) funds to the Petaluma Visitors Program
7 (PVP); and

9 WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the TOT fund revenues and expenditures of FY 96-
10 97; and
11
12 WHEREAS, the projected FY 96-97 fund balance and the estimated FY 97-98 TOT revenues will
13 provide a preliminary estimate of $580,000 in TOT funds available for allocation in FY 97-98; and
14
15 WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted Resolution #94-291 N.C.S. which sets the policy for
7b allocation of TOT funds for advertising and promotion.

18 WHEREAS, the PVP has requested that $194,000 be allocated for the ongoing base programs for
1.9 FY 97-98; and

21 WHEREAS, the PVP will submit additional requests for new projects for consideration with
22 other TOT funding requests.

24 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the allocation of TOT funds to the Petaluma
25 Visitors Program for the FY 97-98 ongoing base program is determined to be $194,000.

27 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council TOT subcommitte shall review the
28 additional PVP program requests and other requests for funding from certain community groups for
29 recommended allocation in the FY 97-98 preliminary budget.

31 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the above allocation to the PVP will be included in the FY
32 97-98 budget process and the final allocations, with formal appropriation of funds, adopted by the budget
33 resolution and appropriation ordinance.
