Jory Bergman (also representing Audrey Haglund from Old Chicago Pizza), Pub Republic, Petaluma, would like to get on the City Council agenda to present alternative acceleration options for the Petaluma Minimum Wage increase ordinance. Carol R. Sullivan, Petaluma, has a very loud neighbor and is concerned about the noise ordinance not being effective or enforceable. Peter Tscherneff, Petaluma, spoke on a variety of social and political topics. Naomi Crawford, Petaluma, Climate Action Petaluma, wants Petaluma to pass an ordinance banning disposable food service ware and other products containing polystyrene foam. Katherine Bobrowski, Littlewoods Mobile Home Villas, Petaluma, spoke of problems at the mobile home park where she lives. Kid Bailey, Petaluma, also spoke in support of a polystyrene foam ban. Joe Ansel, Westhaven HOA, Petaluma, protested the invoice received from the City as the named traffic circle is not part of the parcel in Westhaven. City Manager Flynn Peter Tscherneff, Petaluma, suggested that homeless individuals could be hired to do weed abatement work. Confirming the Cost of Abatement of Weeds and Confirming Approval of the Forwarding of Unpaid Bills to the County Assessor's Office for Collection as Assessments, amended as follows: Item # 1 of resolution amended to read, "The Fire Marshal's 2019 Weed Abatement Cost Report, and each amount and part thereof, except for costs listed in the amount of $642.75 regarding property at Windsor at Western and roundabout, and each amount thereof, is hereby confirmed, and as to the remaining delinquent parcels listed therein, the amount shown for each such parcel constitutes a special assessment against each such delinquent parcel; and, Motion by Gabe Kearney, seconded by Kathy Miller. Ellen Obstler, Petaluma, urged the Climate Action commissioners to work with Council to ban polystyrene and synthetic pesticides. Amber Szoboszlai, Climate Action Petaluma, gave suggestions on how to find solutions to the climate crisis. Peter Tscherneff, Petaluma, recited poetry he has written regarding climate change. Patricia Tuttle Brown, Petaluma, is encouraged that there are so many younger people who want to be involved with the Commission. Three appointees were to receive 4 -year terms expiring June 30, 2023, and 3 three were to receive 3 -year terms expiring June 30, 2022, so that term endings 4 would be staggered. 5 6 Mayor Barrett 7 8 Council Member Kearney 9 10 Council Member Healy suggested that the highest vote -getter, Ann Baker, be 11 appointed to serve a 4 -year term expiring June 30, 2023, and Council 12 concurred (Resolution 2019-163A N.C.S.). Warren Dranit, Petaluma, feels the retail center and arts center accessibility should be taken into careful consideration.
