2 RESOLUTION REJECTING BIDS AND RE-OPENING THE BID PROCESS
3 FOR SELECTING A WEED ABATEMENT CONTRACTOR
4 FOR THE 1997 AND 1998 WEED ABATEMENT PERIOD

7 WHEREAS, sealed bids were received for the 1997 and 1998 weed abatement program
8 and opened on March 27, I997; and
9
] 0 WHEREAS, the method for calculating and awarding bids was not made clearin the bid
11 specifications; and

13 WHEREAS, the method of awarding bids was not the same as the previous contract year
14 (1995); and

l6 WHEREAS, information requested by a bidder on the method of calculating bids was
17 given before the bids were closed and was not amended, and the amended information was not
8 given to other bidders; and

20 WHEREAS, this created confusion among the bidders and an unfair bidding process;

22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby rejects all bids
23 received for the 1997 and 1998 weed abatement program, and directs staffto reopen the bid
24 process.
