CALL TO ORDER Chair Benedetti-Petnic called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. 2. ROLL CALL Page 1 PRESENT: Diana Gomez, Gina Benedetti-Petnic, Bill Wolpert, Richard Marzo, Council Member Healy, Scott Alonso, and Heidi Bauer. ABSENT: None. 3. PUBLIC COMMENT The Commission will hear public comments only on matters over which it has jurisdiction. There will be no Committee/Commission discussion or action. The Chair will allot no more than three minutes to any individual. If more than three persons wish to speak, their time will be allotted so that the total amount of time allocated to this agenda item will be 15 minutes. Chair Benedetti-Petnic opened and, seeing no speakers, closed the general public comment period. 4. COMMISSION COMMENT A. Council Liaison — Mike Healy Council member Healy reported on the February 5th Council meeting noting that they had a mid -year budget review and a discussion on the connector undercrossing. On February 12th, Planning Commission Meeting of February 13, 2018 Page 2 Council had a Housing workshop where the focus was on requests for Just Cause eviction. The Council did not support this particular policy but were interested in the importance of affordable housing. B. Pedestrian and Bicycle Committee — Bill Wolpert Commissioner Wolpert noted that the February Pedestrian and Bicycle Committee meeting was cancelled. C. Tree Advisory Committee — Gina Benedetti-Petnic Chair Benedetti-Petnic noted that the Tree Advisory Committee did not meet in January and their next meeting will be on February 20th. D. Other Committee Comment Commissioner Alonso inquired on the public noticing requirements for Planning Commission meetings and questioned how to get a better response for public participation and comment. Planning Manager's Report Geoff Bradley, Interim Planning Manager reported on items being brought to upcoming meetings including the Oaks at Sunnyslope project and an item to amend the Implementing Zoning Ordinance. He mentioned that staff is working on a large plan check submittal for the Brody Ranch project and reminded the Commission to email Evelyn if there are any planned absences for future meetings.
