CALL TO ORDER Vice Chair Alonso called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm 2. ROLL CALL PRESENT: Diana Gomez, Scott Alonso, Patrick Streeter, and Sandi Potter. ABSENT: Richard Marzo, Heidi Bauer, and Kevin McDonnell. A. Swearing in of new commissioner—Sandi Potter Vice Chair Alonso Lisa Tennenbaum, Assistant City Attorney Sandi Potter was sworn in as the new Planning Commissioner B. Elect Chair, Co -Chair, & 2nd Co -Chair, Committee Liaisons Vice Chair Alonso Ms. Hines Vice Chair Alonso Commissioner Gomez volunteered to serve as the Pedestrian and Bicycle Advisory Committee liaison for the next year. Planning Commission Meeting of July 23, 2019 Page 2 Motion: Approve appointment of Commissioner Gomez as the Pedestrian and Bicycle Advisory Committee liaison for the next year made by Scott Alonso, seconded by Patrick Streeter. Vote: Motion carried 4 - 0. Yes: Diana Gomez, Scott Alonso, Patrick Streeter, and Sandi Potter Absent: Richard Marzo, Heidi Bauer, Kevin McDonnell The rest of the appointments will be continued to the next meeting. 3. PUBLIC COMMENT The Commission will hear public comments only on matters over which it has jurisdiction. There will be no Committee/Commission discussion or action. The Chair will allot no more than three minutes to any individual. If more than three persons wish to speak, their time will be allotted so that the total amount of time allocated to this agenda item will be 15 minutes. The General Public Comment period was opened; seeing no one wishing to speak, the comment period was closed. 4. COMMITTEE COMMENT A. Council Liaison — Kevin McDonnell No report was given. B. Pedestrian and Bicycle Committee — Bill Wolpert No report was given. C. Tree Advisory Committee — Scott Alonso No report was given. D. Other Committee Comment S. STAFF COMMENT A. Planning Manager's Report Heather Hines, Planning Manager, reported that at the last City Council meeting, the Water Street Properties project was heard by the Council, requesting the rezoning of civic space and a realignment of a utility easement. Ms. Hines also reported that there will be a Housing Workshop at the 7/29/19 City Council meeting and all are welcome to attend. The purpose is to discuss where we are, what we are doing and how we will meet the needs of the community. Vice Chair Alonso inquired about the Fine Balance art project appeal.
