Mayor Barrett Paula Freund, Petaluma Historic Library and Museum GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT Mayor Barrett opened GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT. Katherine Bobrowski, Littlewoods Mobile Home Villas, Petaluma, spoke of problems at the mobile home park where she lives. Kathleen Stafford, Pongo's Restaurant, told Council her restaurant does a lot for charity and employs teenagers. She is very frustrated with the recent minimum wage ordinance. Margaret Farman, CEO, United Cerebral Palsy of the North Bay, spoke of challenges that non- profits have in implementing the minimum wage ordinances that have come forward. Taryn Obaid, Petaluma, spoke of the proposed Sid Commons development and the problems she believes it would cause. Ben Peters, Petaluma, shared his ideas for improving the City of Petaluma procurement policy. Susan Kirks, Petaluma, Paula Lane Action Network and Madrone Audubon Society, brought a taxidermy juvenile badger that was donated to the Paula Lane Action Network for their education program. Phoebe Ellis, Lace House Linen, Petaluma, said that Council Members were uninterested in hearing the input of local business owners regarding the new minimum wage ordinance. He suggested permit parking be required. Brent Russell, Petaluma, said he's excited about the changes because Petaluma's had the smallest maximum square footage for granny units for quite some time. Most of his clients are building granny units so they can move into them and their children can live in the main residence, as this is the only way their children can afford to remain in Sonoma County. Judy McDonald, Petaluma, said high rents are driving people out of Sonoma County. Whitt Strain, Petaluma, spoke about the requirement for fire sprinklers and how complicated and expensive it has become for him.
