' Richard, 'Courier, '1716 - P'auline °Way, and Mrs. Maryanne Hodge -expressed.their desire. to see the parkway developed 'with a -bike path, ' pointing :out that the "trees and - landscaping . would enhance the 'communiity aesthetically and would provide a pleasant ­ area fo.r jo,gg( r - ' and' walkers, as well as cyclists. ,Recreation Director Jim Raymond spoke on behalf of the Rroposed bike path, reminding the audience that it would P ilize ; , andmptove the appearance of land that would other Wise, be Mr. Gray responded at thi's'time Balshaw's three initial, points for discussion..,'He explained that the City has the.option of hydra needing ,the creek bank with the approval of the Sonoma County Water Agency; the lighting intended would 'be a low - fluted - type, and the fencing criteria waul:d 'be as stated in the staff report.. Comm. Bond expressed- dissatisfaction with. the. width of the, . property available for recreat;ional.development - and the proposed 'plan. Vice - Cha'i'rman B ; alshaw concurred,. but felt that planting the creek bank would be an improvement to the area. The matter of fencing was ,discussed at, length, and it was Confirmed that all entrances to the parkway would be con- trolled By- gates which could b'e 'locked. ;No f:ur.ther comments were" offered "from the audience and the Public Hearing was closed:. A :moti was made by Comm',. 'Horciza to direct' the' Director of. .Commun !ty' Development to prepare and pos:.t° a Negative Declara- fori for the proposed 'project.; The motion was seconded by Comm.. Waters. AYES 5 NOES 0 ABSENT 2 A motion was made by.Comm. Waters to approve the Use Permit to allow the linear parkway'. The motion was seconded by Coinm. Horciza. AYES' 5 NOES 0 ABSENT 2 Comm.
