APPROVA -;OF MINUTES: The minutes. of meeting of May 16, 1978 were ap-
�' proved , as - corrected.
CORRESPONDENCE: •A letter and petition received in opposition to the
Bernardi - proposal fora mini warehouse complex to be
t at Bodega Avenue and Cleveland Comm.
Waite explained that this property is under county jurisdiction and the City
is only+a referral agency. Judy Sovel, 721 Cleveland Avenue; asked if the
driveway entrance was wide enough to allow for trucks and trailers to make a
large swing onto Cleveland Avenue.' Mr.. Hall explained the driveway measures
25 -feet which should be enough room for large vehicle maneuverability. Thomas
Hargis, ; Asst. City Engineer, explained a 25 -foot driveway would have a 12 -foot
in and a.12 -f6ot out. A vehic -le turning would use up both sides of the drive-
way and %a vehicle exiting would cross, the centerline, but vehicles should be
able.to�get•in and out.
Comm, Hoffman asked if there,, was staff input ; -relevant to a ramp for the Pozzi
project. Fred. Tarr, Senior Planner, explained that on any alterations of
existing,structures, it is at the discretion of the Chief Building Inspector..
In the Base of Pozzi and the- ;Mackey - Behrens project., it.is the discretion not
to. requite a .ramp for of;f,ice.uses On any new construction *, a ramp would be
required, and one space would be required for the handicapped®

The motion was made�by Comm. 'Shearer, seconded by Comm. Hoffman to approve
Items l 4 on the Consent Calendar. Motion was carried unanimously.

Negative Declaration for the The motion was -seconeled by Comm.
Tencer. The motion: carried with five affirmativo and one absentee vote.
The Public Hearing to consider the Use Permit was opened.. No-comments were
offered from the audience-and-the Public Hearing was closed.
Comm. ;Shearer moved to grant the•Use Permit to allow for an auto 'su'pply. The,
motao:n. was seconded by Comm, Tencer. The motion carried with five affirmative
and one-absentee votee

EVALUATION PERMIT/ oriented shopping center and commercial building to be
SITE DESIGN REVIEW: located at the southeast corner of North.MeDowell
Blvd. and Ofd. Redwood.Highwaym Phase I,.consists of a
27, square foot building-originally proposed to be
used for Big R. Phase :-II consists: of a 27; °840 square foot retail.,/ wholesale
building and s.proposed be used by Big R. The shopping center is. intended
to serve dairy and 'ranch interest;s.� A: total of ,169 parking spaces .are provided
to serve the exist ng and proposed =buildings. A convenient internal circula-
tion system off of two.North McDowell B'lvd� driveways is proposed,,.
Comm. Sheaf°er explained the'appligaant would like to have smaller,shops and
they felt the proposed. 7,500 square;'f'eet shop is-not a realistic figure. She
stated that smaller shops would generate more traffic There was also ,a
proposal'for a deli and a veterinary hospital.

opened. Barry Parkinson, attorney representing the applicant, explained the
