HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 07/09/19293°2 Petaluma, California, July 9th, 192:9 L The regular monthly meeting, of the City 'PIlanning Commi on was .duly held on. the 9th day of July, 1.9-29; at 7:350 P. -M. ; at the office of the: City Ai tarney, Lewis Hi Cromwell: The following members were present Mrs. Hamilton, and Messrs. l`homas , Jones, Gre , C-romw.e.11 and 3,;Sayor Farrell. Mrs- Hamil ton presided. The term of 'Mr.. 7ess.en having, exp °ired, the Chairman appointed air. Cromwell temporary secretary. The minutes of the.last regular meet- ing of the Commis . .'were read and approved as corrected,. The Chairman called for nominations for Secreta and " I�lr Thomas - nominated lr". McFadden. iv1r. Greene seconded the: nomination. There _being na further nominations, on motion *duly made, .seconded and carried., the nominations were declared close.d,,, and the Chairman declared Mr. McFadden elecited secretary of the Commission Mr. `Thomas reported for th -e Gommitteb on the Baker Street side walk matter, and a map of the district, with'stati;st. cs incorporated thereon,,_was :presented. The Committee recommended that a. meeting of the Commission be held, at which th•e interested proper y owners on Baker Street be requested 'to be present, and the matter discussed,, and a -plan,of action agreed upon whereby the sidewalk could'be secured without the necessity of 'legal proc'eed'ings. The report or the: Committee and the"map were accepted, and ordered filed. Upon moti -on 'by Mr., xJones, seconded by Mr. Greene.,, the Chairman• was requested to issue a call for a :spi `meeting of the ,Planning Commission, to' be held at the Tuesday Chamber in the City Hall , on evening -, Jul y 16th _ notify "al, 1929, at ,7:30 P. The Secretary read a letter from , the Denver Planning Commiss;'i;on r- equestirlg endorsement of `the meeting of the National Conference on City Planning in Denver On motion duly made, seconded acid carried the Commission went on record as favoring Denver as the next f'eeting place, and the secretary was instructed, to. notify the Denver! Planning "Commission of %this action. A letter was read from - the - California Conference on. City l ?l•anninG which.' requested info,-rmatllibn on • certain phases of the Comm:issi;onls .. organization. and the status-of i`ts progress. The Secretaz °y was instructed to answer the 4uestioiiaire. The aecratary was instructed to obtain copies of :Senate Bill #614, known as the iviap Act, and Senate Bill #615, known as the' Planning Act, which Were recently, p'assed by the Legislature,. On mot Ion of 11r,. Greene, seconded by Mr.. Jones, and unanimously carried, the following• res'olut.ion was adopted.- RESOLVED that the Secretary be, and he -- is hereby,, instructed to express to Mr.. C•.. B.•Jensen, retiring Secretary, the sincere thanks and appreciation of the Commi ssion for his unselfish and. public- spirited purti,cipat'ion in the work of the: Planning C ommissi on.
