July, 1.9.29; at 7:30 P.. -M., at the off'ic_e' of - the City At-torney, Lewis Hi Cromwell: The following members were present Mrs. Hamilton, and Idessrs. Thomas,: J ones , Greene, C-romw.e.11 , and 3,;Sayor Farrell. Mrs. Hamil ton presided. The term of Nlr. Jess -en having, expired., the Chairman appointed ,air. Cromwell temporary ssc'retary. The minutes of the .last. regular meet-.- ing of, the Commission were read and approved as corrected,. The Chairman called for nominations for Secretary'- azzd Mr,. Thomas; nominated Mr". McFadden. iv1r. Greene seconded the,nominat,ion. There _being no .further nominations, on motion -duly made, .second,ed and carried., the nominations were declared closed,, and the Chairman declared Mr. McFadden elected secretary of the Commission. Mr. `Thomas reported .for th-e Committee on the Baker Street side- walk matter, and a map of the district, with' statistics incorporated thereon., _was presented. The Committee recommended that, a .mee-ting of the Commission be held, at which th•e interested property owners on Baker Street be requested to be present, and the matter dis.cussed., and a -plan of action agreed upon whereby the sidewalk could'be secured without the necessity of 'legal proceedings. The report or the. Committee and the map were accepted, and ordered filed. tip on' moti.on 'by Mr., Jones, a6zonded by Mr. Greene.,, the Chairman was requested to issue a call for .a special 'meeting of the Planning Commission, to' be held at the Council Chamber in the City Hall on Tuesday evening, July 16th, 1929', at 5:30 P. Ts1. , and the Secretary was ihs,tructed 'to notify "all property owners of the meet' ng and request tli.em to * be present .for a, discussion, of the Baker Street 'sidewalk matter: The Secretary read a letter from the Denver Planning Commission - requesting endorsement of `the meet-ing of. the National Conference on City Planning in Denver., On motion duly made, seconded acid c.arr.ied the Commission went on record as favoring Denver as the next meeting place, and the secretary was instructed t:o* notify the Denver' Planning c6timiss-ion of ••thi.s° -action. A letter was read from 'the 'California Conference on. City Planning which.'requested info:rmatdbn on.cer•tdiri phases of the Commi.ssion, :s . organization. and, the status'of its progress. The Secretary was instructed to answer the aues'tionaire. The ecratary was instruc"ted to obtain copies of .Senate Bill #6.14," known as the Map Act, and Senate Bill #615 , .known as „•th•e Planning Act, which Wererecently,p'assed by the Legislature'.".' On motion of Isar,. Greene, seconded by Mr.. Jones, and unanimously, carried, the following,- resolution was adopted: RESOLVED that the Secretary be, :and he - is hereby,, instructed to express to Mr.. C.. B.•Jensen, retiring Secretary, the sincere thanks and appreciation of the Commission for his unselfish and public-spirited parti-.cipation in the Work of the Planning Commission. 1
