The Planning Commission of the City of Petaluma was called to
order ky President Evans, in ad journed session at 10 o'clock A. M.
on the' date.
ROLL CAL L: Present: Corrmissioners Evans, Hamilton, Jones, Cromwell,
Gonzalte z, McFadden and Green.
The application of R. A. Douglas for permission to erect a
service station on the corner of ,Third and I'Streets was re -read.
Attorney Howell, representative of R. A. Douglas, applicant,
addressed the Commission, stating that the station would.be of all
steeljconstruction, would be attractively designed and planted -
with lawn and shrubbery, well kept and maintained at all times; also
that
e at 16' n feet of Mr. Douglas property on Third Street would be used

and that, owing to the fact that i the building would be constructed
entire3:y of steel that there would be no increase in fire insurance
rates ;in that locality.
Attorney Lounibos, representative of theprotestants, addressed
the Commission_, pointing out the fact that 80% of the neighboring
residents were. - opposed to the granting of a permit for the erection
of a service station. Messrs. O'Neil, Cader Pieper also
addressed the Commissioh, opposing the granting of said permit.
After a lengthy discussionand consideration of the matter,
it wasjjmove;d, seconded and that the Commission recommend to
the City.Councl that the application of R. A. Douglas for a permit
to erect a service station on thelcorner of Third and I Streets
be denied,
A.DJOURYMENT: On motion regularly made and carried the meeting
adjourned.
