City Attorney :Karl Brooks explained, to the _Commission .that the, City Council has be considering two propositions to be pu`t on the ballot for the coming General Election on June 12.th., the propositions being a City Hall and .Administration Building and a combined Auditor ium Assembly Convention Hall and Recreation, Building, for which the' ". Architect has submitted preliminary ,plans, sketche,s:, -and. estimates of costs, Mrs. Brooks explained 'th the City Council has given much c'o nside rat i•o n- to th quest of w het he r the pr opositfons should b e placed on the ballot as one proposition" or whether they should be separate and the voters given the opportunity of voting _ f or either one or the 'o ther or b othe. He further stated that combini the two projects as one' proposition presented legal difficulties and that the bond attorneys' had stated 'that they would approve of the submission of the projects as a single Ir oposition only if Section .14 'of the: Municipal 'Bond Act is followed., which.Act provides that t -he� City Planning Commission must first adopt the Architect's suggested plan as a City Plan and that this City Plan. '.be then submitted 'to the electors, a The City Planning Cotnmis`sion discussed the projects. under Cori­. sideration and expressed their willingnes's fo co- operate with.the city Council for the betterment and improvement of the City, but it - iias the .consensus of opinion that,,because of the limited• time in which. they :had to s turfy the matter, they could riot, at, this time, .make a recommendation., r Therefor, it was moved by Commissioner Gonzalez, seconded by Commissioner Winding that no recommendation on the matter of a City ` Plan for the Zity of Petaluma be °made to the :City Council.
