PRESENT: Commissioners Cavanagh, Richards., Stanley, Gatewood. ABSENT: Commissdonee'r Popp STAFF: Robert E. Byrd, Director of Planning OTHER CITY OFFICIALS: Robert Meyer,. Maftager Norman Van Bebber, Mayor CORRESPONDENCE Mr. Byrd"read the reply to Commiss.1oner Richard's request (directed t Supervis6r aLnd by him to the Division of Highways) regarding the possible landscaping aping of the so'iith Petaluma City approach. In essence, the letter stated that no funds would be available for such a project,. Correspondence was read from Cotati and Rohnert Park regarding the pro- posed workshop to be held on May 1st in the Council Chambers, City Hall, Petaluma. Mr. Byrd read a letter addre to the Commission from Swanson and Cutler voicing their protes.t to*any type of zoning of the Gutermute property which would allow a mobile home park. ARTHUR PARENT, REZONING, FILE - NO. - 17.64 Public c hearing was held on the rezoning of Assessor's Parcel No. 6-031-9 (840 Keokuk Street) from an R-1-1500 to a C-S Zone for the purpose of constructing a mortuaryo' In his staff report the Planner stated that th,e parcel adjoins an existing C-S zone and Is buffered on two sides by collector streets (said 'report was*made part of the permanent file). Mr. Arthur Parent was present - and mentioned the fact that it would eli- minate a treat deal of traffic thr6ugh (especially from the east side by use of West Street - 'There'were - no objections voiced to the proposed rezoning., Res. Z7'64, recommending to the City Council that the above parcel 'be reclassified "from R-1 1500 zone to a C-S zone, was introduced .by Comm.'Stanley, seconded by Comm. Richards and passed by all members present. ROBERT E. (,The existing structure hds a 0 ft. frontyard,). Mr.. Byrd _preP:ent;ed a, favorable staff report which was made part of the ptrmanent f'ile Mt. Keller was present and s,t,a,ted the need for the pro- posed additfon. No, objections to the variance were voiced. Resolution V17-64.,granting the variance, was. introd',uced by Comm. Richards, second- -ded by Comm. Mr.-Byrd made an oral report recommending granting the variance since it Is minor in nature. Mr. Durando was present*. No objections Were voiced. Res. V18-64 granting the variance,.was Introduced'by Comm.. Cavanagh, seconded by Comm.
