9. RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE SONOMA MARIN MULTI-MODAL
to TRANSPORTATION AND LAND USE STUDY
1t ~ ~ AS A GUIDE FOR TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENTS

14 WHEREAS, [he City Council of the City of Petaluma, finds that there is a significant
15 correlation between land use and traffic congestion, and;
16
17 WHEREAS, the City of Petaluma has participated with the Sonoma County
18 Transportation Authority as a constituent member to address this issue and;
19
20 WHEREAS, the Sonoma County Transportation Authority has undertaken evaluation of
z ~ Multi-Modal Transportation and Land Use Study of the US 101 and Northwest Pacific
z2 Railroad corridors and has completed this Study, and;

z4 WHEREAS, the Sonoma Marin Multi-Modal Transportation and Land Use Study
25 recommends transportation investment on both the US 101 and Northwest Pacific
26 Railroad corridors to provide a balanced transportation solution for Sonoma County.

28 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Petaluma, that
29 the City adopts the Sonoma/Marin Transportation and Land Use Study as a guide for
3o transportation improvements, and;

2 THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of
3 Petaluma, that the City requests this adoption of the Study by the Sonoma County
4 Transportation Authority.
