APPROVAL OF MINUTES -, the minutes for the meeting of August 3, 1965
were approved a's submitted.
CORRESPONDENCE - the Planner Informed the Commission that the Sonoma
County Board of Super- ' visors had de1aye the public hearing on the re,
zoning application filed by Redrey Corporation until Sept. 21, 1965.
REZONING OF WESTERLY SIDE OF KENTUCKY ST. BETWEEN WASHINGTON AND PROS-
PECTi FROM AN R-M ZONE (NR DISTRICT" TO A,P-M ZONE OR DISTRIGT
Chairman Gatewood opened the pliblic hearing to consider the above men-
tioned rezoning. Mf. Byrd presented a comp, rehens;ive staff report (said
report being made part of permanent file The Planner stated that
the proposed P-M zoning conforms with the Genera,l Plan and will be a
transitlon between the commercial zone & reside.nt-i zone. In addition,
none of"the existing uses will become nonconforming as a result of the
zone modification. Following a favoratle'stafP report, the Planner
read three letters voicing Qpp9sit i on to the rezoning. Mrs. Veith,
.253 Kentucky Street, inquired'whether the re would have any bear -
ing on taxes. Mr. Byrd informed her that although he didn't believe
so, that It would be,.b*e to check with the County Assessor. Bill Fos-
ter, representing the owners of the old Baptist Church, was present
and Informed the Commission on that i I f the rezoning is granted, the build-

formed the Commission that the two adjacent buildings will be removed
to prov.1de the necessary offstreet parking. Res. Z9-65 recommending
the proposed rezoning to the City Council, was Introduced by Comm.
Gans, seconded by Comm. Popp and passed.
ARTHUR CANAVAN, VARIANCE FILE V19-65
The Commission reviewed variance applicat filed by A. Canavan
to allow construction of a stable and the necessary variances for con-
struction of same, at 670 Paula L,'The Planner read an unfavorable
report stating that the site has Jess than 50% of the required minimum
site area and the building would be within-20 ft. of the side property
line. M�r. Dave Cad,er was . present in the absence of Mr. Canavan*
Mt. Larry Parks, a1sro was present and. spqkO' In favor of the applicant.
After furth:er d I s ,C; u's S ion , Mr Cader requested that the matter be held
over until the ' nex I t regular) ' meeting, at which time Mr. Canavan would
be present to state his case. The.Commission agreed to this suggestion.
