The Commission reviewed the vara?�e applcarion filed by Dr. West to
allow construction of an uncovered platform to exceed the setback height
and ,coverage requirements setforth .in the Zoning Ordinance (as"' er sketch
attac, to the resolution). In his re ort - . Mr. Byrd stated that the appli°
cant, has requested an, exception to al 'ow construction of a pool. deck-within
3 feet ;of the property line to be a height of 8 feet at that point, with a 4 ft.
railing extending above th 8 ft. level Mt. Byrd recommend approval of
the request in view of the .fact that the lot has a steep slope which prohibits
its normal, use for such ur oses' hi( addition,, it, would screen the rear.

At the request of the local post office the Commission modified that part y.
of Ely Road which is in the city to bel called�South E'ly;Boulevard (to corr.es
pond iwith South McDowell'Blvd). The motion was introduced by Comma Styles,
seconded by Comm. 'Gatewood. and passed by the following vote. Ayes: 4
Noes 1 (Comm,. Battaglia),
EAST;PARK SUBDIVISION, UNIT 3, FINA MA P, RES 2 2° 66
The Commission reviewed the final.. map, of East Park Subdivision, Unit .3.
Mr. Byrd read a favorable report, from the City Engineer. In his report,
the Planner, recommended. appov-al with the condition that the street name
of Ely Road be changed to- South. Ely Boulevard. (see Res. 21 66 mentioned
above). Res,. No. 22 ° 66, approving the final map as. stated was introduced.

CREEKSIDE MANOR: SU 1VIO STREET N.AMES,. RES, 20_66
The Plann4ig Commissi0 n., at their last. reg�alar. meetifig,_ voted to modify the
street names. with Creekside Manor Sub4ivi si;oli in order to eliminate confusion
in s numbering. 'Res. 20 °66, formalizing the modification,, was introduced
by Comrri. Popp seconded by CommJ Gatewood and..pas:sed unanimously.
