Chairman.,Waters gave'a brief resume`of the Petaluma River Project 1970
Report .which was prepared.'wi;th citizen_.par.ticipation. He suggested
thatccitizens.agan,be encouraged.to: participate in formulating plans
for the development of: thi 19...:acre,.site: The Planning Director noted
that':.the' C'ity's Parks &. Recrea.t Commission will be responsible for
the development:'.of the 'park. Councilman' Daly cautioned that before
the city becomes financially.'involved,:..an investigation should be con-
ducted with.other cities.to find..out what kind of city- county cost,,-
participation was..devised..in..their communities.
Heritage Homes of Petaluma
The Planning Director read a copy of a letter addressed to the Mayor
from F. K. Schram, President o f °Heritage Homes of Petaluma, encourag-
ing the city to establish area-to be known as "Historic Petaluma."
The letter.outlines.var.fous proposals.:to encourage revitalization of
the c. ty.. A. copy of the .letter. will, be .forwarded to each committee
group.now studying..the environmenta design plan for the city.
Sonoma Referral to .Rename.,Weise Road to Stadler Lane
It was the ' opinion: of-the.. Planning Commission not to
voice any .adverse.._comment..on. the .recommended name change by the County,
provided. the:: :n °ame 1 eise Road" has no historical values and the Post -
master has no objections. (Motio intro aced by Co m Cerini, and

The Commission directed the staff to.forward a letter to the Sonoma
county Board of Zoning Adjustments indicating their support of the
abatement of the existing violation. (Motion made by Comm. Cerini,
.seconded by Comm® Balshaw ®)

Chairman the.public hearing. Testimony
in opposition to-changing the name of Cindy Lane for
.that portion of the street, was heard from Richard
Stout, 740-Cindy Lane., Wm® Gray, 743 Cindy Lane and
Mr. Ashman, 73'9 Cindy Lane. They felt a change in
name would add..to.the.confusion of trying to locate
..-the.street. Furthermore,. it would cause great in-
convenience relative to.reprinting business cards,
drivers licenses',' etc.. There being no further testi-

numbering in a.north-south and east-west direction.

-further discussion a motion was made by
Comm...Balsbaw that..the,entire U-shape (including the
area within Terra Vista Knolls Subdivision and the new
Cherry Valley Subdivision) named "Cindy Lane" and
the 6.uaits.-on the end ..be called "Cindy Court." The
motion was seconded by.Comm,...Cerini and passed by all
members present.

Street,.." At present Street runs from Petaluma

Cherry Street — Chairman- .Waters opened the public
hearing, No testimony was-heard in opposition to
changing the.name-.of the street running from magnolia
Avenue to Cherry .Street, .to ".ANTONE WAY,," Mr. Norman
Rollins, owner..of..property affected by the proposed
..Change stated he.favored the name change to Antone
. .Way ® Chairman Waters closed the public hearing.
Res. 26-71, recommending to. ,the City Council that a
certain.,portion of-.Cherry be renamed "Antone
Way''. was,introduced by Comm. Daly, seconded by Comm.
Balshaw.and passed..by.all.members present,
