The minutes of the Planning Commission 'Meeting 15,. 1972 of February 15`, 1972 were approved as submitted. `ENVIRONMENTAL Chairman Wate explained to the .-audience that this was DE:SI'GN PLAN a review,, not a public hearing, by the. Planning Commis - REVIEW sion on the 'Environmental; Design Plan with regard to the City Council ® s modifications and action on the plan The Commission referred to C•ity.Counci'1 °s letters of January 27, 1972 and March 8, 1 Letter of January 27, 1 972 1. Multiple Residential designation on the south side of East Washington St'. between Wilson St. & n Payra rte. Commission, recommended Neighborhood Commercial. Council concurred - No further action requiredt 2y Co mmercial des- lgnation north of Petaluma Plaza Shopping. Center. Commission recommended change the EDP design t show,'a ho zone for further study. Council concurred. No further action required 3. Planned residential designation in the area presently zoned M-:L bounded by the Freeway, Lakeville Highway, Wilson Street, Jefferson Street., the Fairgrounds and the. present agricultural zonling adjacent to the Fairgrounds. After much- ,Aiscussion, the Planning Commission recommended the triangular-shaped area bounded by Caulfield :Lane, Lakeville llighwray, and the Freeway 101 not be included I n the Study Area and the are remain M =L. The res.t,of the area be put in a specific Planning Area: 4. Pl anned residential designation in the area presently zoned agricultural adjacent to the .Fairgrounds. Commissar recommended dhange'EDP designation to show Special Study Area. Council concurred. No further '- action required. Wojciechowski property located' at approximate extension of Ellis Street fronting on Madison Street in the unincorporated area. Square,,S-hopping.Centpr to the west,: the Washington Creek to the north, and the extension of McGregor Avenue designated on the E.D.P. Map as Planned Development. Council recommended,E.D.P. Map be, changed to incorporate some of the triangular-shaped property adjacent to the WAshi ' ngtdn Square Shopping, Center as High ' Density Resi- dential Use,. '. A motion wa s� - by Comm. Petaluma Co-Opetative Creamery on Western Avenue between Uph&m Street,and Baker Street designated as Urban Low De'nsity.Res•dential, Council recommended E.D.P, Map :be changed to show Industrial use. A motion was intro- duced by Comm. Daly, secondedby Comm., Popp, to concur with the Council.recommend motion was passed by four (4) affirmative votes. Comm. Map... - show Medium Density Residential. A motion was intro duced duced by Comm. Popp, seconded by Comm. Map show the subject area as , Presently zoned - industrial'. A motion was introduced by Comm. Schme1z. by Comm. Daly, to show the subject area on the E,.D.P Map as M9L. The Counci,1 recommended the EiD.P. Map to show subject area as M-L. A motion was introduced by Comm. Popp, seconded by Coirn6l Cerini to concur with the Council recommendation. The motion was passed unanimously. 23® Extension of Caulfield Lane at the easterly corner of South McDowell Boulevard shown on the'E.D.P. Map as a, park ,with the northeast quadrant of Caulfield Lane and south McDowell Boulevard as Nieghborhood Commercial. The Council recom- mended the E.,D.P'. Map be changed to show Professional Administrative Office designation. A motion was introduced by Comm. Cerini, seconded by Comm.
