W.__,LEE The architectural approval and site plan approval of gasoline service sta- tion at 120'Wes-tern Avenue, scheduled to be submitted at this time, was postponed until the next meeting:. VICTOR L. DECARLI. AND RESOLUTION OF INTENTION Z2-60, PUBLIC HEARING, ,FILE #z3-60 The Planning Commis.siori continued the public.liearing on rezoning application #11.877� filed by Victor'L. DeCarli and Planning Commission Resolution of Intention i2-60'to rezone the 20.parcel s located in the area on,. East Washington Street between Payran" and Vallejo'Streets as designated in the -resolution, from an R 1 t68­a C-:1' zone.• 'The clerk read a letter from Mrs. Alma Carlson, 215 Vallejo Street-, supporting the proposed rezoning.` Another letter was received' from Mrs. Fl.etclier' Scott, 712 East Washington_Street, stating that it would be unfair to rezone only i.r. DeCarli's property since it.wad diffic•alt'for all the -.property owners on East Washington ­Street to sell their property for single .family purposes. Commissioner Ellis expressed opposition to rezoning at this time be -cause of the anticipated General Pla- whi^h will soon be started., Mr. Coleman gave a report on the type of uses permitted if this area were to be rezoned R 3. Mro Joe Brazil!, 171 Vallejo Street felt this..area should be zoned commercial gradually and that this,mi,ght be' achieved by first zoning it R-3. Mr. Taylor, repres.enting'the Standard Oil Co. also expressed the —feasibility of rezoning to R-,3 to increase the property value but'stated he hoped the Commission would rezone Mr. DeCarliTs corner property to C-1, so'a gasoline service station may be constructed there. The following,resolutions were then introduced:. Resolution No. Z:3-60 recommend- ing to the City Council the denial, of -the proposed amendment reclassifying all the properties on East Wl shington Street, betwses'Payran & Vallejo Street from an R.l zone to a C-1 zone as requested, was then introduced by Comm. Ellis and seconded by'CaTnn; Gilbbs and ,was unanimously passed by all members present. Resolution No. Z'8060, recommending to the 'City Council the adoption of a proposed amendment• reclassifying the property located at 732 E. Washington Street from an "R-1" zone to a "C-1"' zone and the property located at 212 Payr°an Street from an "R-1" zone R to an_"3" z-one, was- introduced by Comm. Gibbs and seconded by Comm.
