ROLL CALL Present: Commissioners King, Lane, Stanley Absent: Commissioners Gibbs, Popp City Staff: Robert E. Byrd, Director of Planning NE MCGILLICUDDY & LOCKE PLUMBING COMPANY, INC., PUBLIC HEARING, RE20N The Planning Commission conducted the public hearing for rezoning appli- cation #2904 filed by Eugene McGillicuddy & Locke Plumbing Company, Inc., to rezone the entire block b;ound,by Howard, Kent, Walnut., and Oak Streets from R -1 to R -3. A.staff report was presented. The clerk read setters from Com- missioners Gibbs & Popp in which they requested that any decision on the re- zoning application be deferred until the next regular meeting (6/5/t=2') so that they might be present to vote on the matter. Mr. McGillicuddy questioned the Planning Director as to how his lot could be developed if it were not rezoned and was informed that it could be subdivided into two parcc s, al- though this method was not desirable. Mrs. Lucille Taapken, 528 Oak Street, inquired whether the proposed rezoning would affect taxes or property values In the area. Acting Chairman King stated that, although R -3 is considered - ,,higher land use than R -1, the taxes would not necessarily increase unless .ere was a demand for the property. Mr. Americo Gervasoni, 411 Walnut St., submitted a petition containing 56 signatures of property owners residing In and adjacent to the area proposed to be rezoned, requesting that the application be denied. Mr. Gervasoni stated that all but two or three of the petitioners who signed the petition favoring the rezoning, had now re- versed their decision and signed the petition requesting its denial because of inaccurate information given them on the original petition. Mr. Thomas Kasovich, 526 Oak Street, requested that the area in question remain as it was. Acting Chairman King instructed the Planner to check the names on both petitions. The decision was delayed until the next regular meeting.. DE ROO SUBDIVISION, FINAL SUBDIVISION MAP APPROVAL, FILE NO. 150 The Planning Commission reviewed application #2935 filed by Francis De Roo for the final map of De Roo Subdivisi.on'No. 1, located on the east side Of Mountain View Avenue, south'of Phillips Avenue in a U zone. The Plan- ing Director stated that the final map was the same as the tentative map . submitted and Resolution 150,, granting the approval for the application, was then introduced by Commissioner Lane and seconded by Commissioner Stan- ley,. and passed unanimously by all members present. MONTE I JISTA SUBDIVISION NO. 1_, FINAL SUBDIVISION MAP APPROVAL, FILE NO. 151 The Planning Commission reviewed application #2950 filed by Marino Cri- rolla for a portion of the final map of Monte Vista Subdivision No. 1 ormerly known as "Linda Del Mar Subdivision No. 5, 6, 7) located adjacent to Lindberg I Lane, south of McDowell Blvd. So., between McDowell Blvd. So. and U.S. 101 Freeway in a U zone. K 1 9 1962 , The Planning Director stated that the Mayor had requested the Com- missioners to proceed with the study sessions on the new zoning ordinance keeping the Council informed. A schedule of pages to be covered for each study session will be mailed to the Commissioners. . TWO ROCK REQUEST FOR BUS SHELTER The Planning.Director informed the Commission that the proposed bus stop shelter would have to be locat. near the location originally presented or it would not be utilized. Acting Chairman King instructed the Planner to contact any property owners who would be affected by the proposed location on the east side of Howard Street adjacent to the-Signal Service Stations Adjournment There being no further business to come before the Commission ..zie meeting was adjourned.
