of the City of Petaluma, California
ADOPTING THE LAVATERA `BICOLOR' AS
THE OFFICIAL CITY FLOWER
WHEREAS, the Petaluma Garden Club, which has been in existence for over
fifty years, and which has participated in many local and state projects including state
conservation and educational projects, also works toward the City's beautification; and
WHEREAS, as Santa Rosa has adopted the rose and Rohnert Park has adopted
the sweet pea as their official flowers, the Petaluma Garden Club wishes to nominate
the Lavatera `bicolor' as the official flower of the City of Petaluma; and
WHEREAS, the Lavatera "bicolor" is a hardy plant that offers lavender and
purple blooms throughout the year, and will be a beautiful representative of the City of
Petaluma.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
Petaluma adopts the Lavatera "bicolor° as the official City flower for the City of
Petaluma.
Under the power and authority conferred upon this Covncil by the Charter of. said City
