Regulay meeting of the Petaluma City Planning Commission held on.
August 7 1962 at 7030 o'clock P.m. In the Council Chamber, City Hall.

CORRESPONDENCE
The clerk read a Letter from Mitchell. Howard., requesting a use
permit to allow the burning of car bodies a't ,their , wrecking yard lo-
cated at 815 Wilson Street. - (Use Permit U26-60 issued to A. Co White
and Marshall Williams whlich allowed the Wrecking yard,, did not allow
the burning of car bodle's). In view of the fact that the Commission
had just sent the'Sonoma County Commission a letter request-
ing that ,a "non-burning" rule be considered when reviewing applica-
tions submitted to the County for use permits mits in this area,. the Com-
mission unanimously dented the request. J
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The minutes for the meeting of July 17, 1962 were approved as
submitted.

Use Permit Application #3660 filed by W'Illiam B. Stenwick to
construct a separate structure sign for a coin operated dry cleaning
establishment to be located at 216 Weste,rn.Avenue (formerly Safeway
Store) was reviewed. U2 ' 7-62, granting the use permit, was introduced
by Comm. Gustafson,. and se-co I nded by Comm, Lane,, and was unanimously
passed by all members present. Archlt.ec,tural approval was also given
for the remodelling and enlarging of the building.

Mr. Donovan several questions pertinent t,b the requests Resolution
U28-62, granting the use permit,, was intr by Comm. Gustafson,
seconded by Comm. Lane, and was passed unanimously by all members
present, sub.ject to the following conditionso.

Mr. Byrd stated the ' storage of the acetone would have to comply
with the rules mandatory In Fire .Zone 1.

Mr,. Byrd explained to the Commission that two use permits had
been Issued to Mr. Rueage regard1ng the use of property located
at 527 East Washington Street and that the wording of same did not
correspond with the requdst,. In order to clarify the use,, Res.
U29-62 was introduced by-Comm. Gustafson, and.seconded by Comm. Lane.,
and was passed unan all members present �,ubject to the
conditions listed in the Use Permit.

John Simpkins, of the.George S. Nolte, engineering firm, represented
the owner, James B. Morehead, and asked for a d1elay on action on the
tentative map for the North San Franci Bay Industrial Park, on
North McDowell Blvd., mainly because the Planner had a number of recom-
mendations on the map, pertaining to;parce.l size,, access, parking
area, etc. and Mr. Simpkins wanted to confer mith Mr. Morehead regarding
same,. Action was held over unt-il August 21, 1962.

A report was submitted by City Engineer Scott stating that the
tentative map filed''by Bobble Slayden for Slayden Subdivision No. I
conforms with the Subd.IvIsion Ordinance. .Mr. Byrd also reported. that
the map meets the requirements of the present and proposed zoning
regulations and ,conforms with the development plans for this area.
Resolution #156 approving the tentative ma,p-was Introduced by Comm.
Lane and seconded by Comm. Gustafson and was passed unanimously by all
members present.
RANCHO 220 SUBDIVISION NO. 1, TENTATIVE MAP APPROVAL FILE. No. -157
Tentative Map Approval for Rancho 220 Subdivision No. I was re-
vlewed. ,.,4. report from 'the City Engineer and Planning Director was
pres:ented. Resolution 157, approving the tentative map, was Intro-
duced by Comm. Gustafson, and: second-ed by Comm. Lane and was passed by
all members present subject to the conditions listed. ed in the resolution.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Commission,
the meeting was adjourned.
