APPIkOVAL MINUTEST -- the minutes 'for the meeting of April 4, '1967
were approved, as Mitted.
PROPOSAL TOCHANGEPETALUMA BOULEVARD TO,MAIN'STREET
Chairman Stanley opened the public hearing. to get the public's opinion
as to whether or not Peta(Luma. Boulevard; : should.be changed back to Main
.Street. Mr Byrd stated that- it - was -a questio . of, tradition versus
economics, The, - Planner then listed some of. the expense that would be
involved if the name change Mr. Byrd read letters received

cal Societ y spoke- in'behal-faf changing it back to Main Street. Mr.
George U,eLong presented a petition signed by 206 Petaluma residents,
many of' businestrfibn and residents located on the street in ques-
tion.,, opposing t:-he,'na,me change, - A motion, to - retain, the name of Peta-
,Iuma Boulevard was introduced by Comm. Battaglia, seconded by Commo
Popp,,, -and - passed.

ington Street around the Citv :Recreation Building to: Payran -Street, was
held at this time A request for this street naming had been received
from Councilman Lipma,n at a prievious Ifteeting, There were no objections.
Res. 2-6.7,, recommending said street name to the: City Council,, was in-
troduced Commissioner Popp by Comm, Battaglia, and passed.
