JUNE 4, '68 The minutes 'for the meeting of June 4, 1968 were approved as submitted. BCDC Mr`. McGivern. i nfo -me °d the Planning Commission that.an executive from the Bay Conservation Development'Commisaion had contacted him relative to presenting their final report to the City Council. Said report will be presented.to the Council on July 1, 1968 and he urged the Commissioners to be present. GULF OIL The,Planning Commission considered and ap CORPORATION proved the policy decision of the City Council FILE U10 -68 to continue the public hearing (relative to the use permit request filed by Gulf Oil Corporation to rehabilitate the service station located at 120 Western Avenue,) until August 20,, 196x8, to allow the Council time to establish a firm commitment of . implementa- ton of the.Downtown Core Area Plan. The motion was made by Comm. Battaglia, seconded by Comm Perry and was approved by the follow- ing vote Ayes: Comm. Battaglia,, Fostmeier, Koenitzer. Noes': Comm. Styles. CARPENTERS Chairman Fostmeier opened the public hearing LOCAL V981 regarding the use'permit application filed FILE U18-68 by the Carpenters Local 0`81 to allow construc- tion of a Labor Temple auditorium in an R -2 -3000 Zone at 200 Upham Street. The staff report, recommending approval of the request subject to the `conditions as outlined, wa's ,vre`sented by Mr. McG'ivern ands part of the permanent file. Mr. , Ivarson,, spoke on behalf of the Carpenters Local, voicing no opposition to the conditions.. Res. U18 -68, approving the use permit with the conditions as outlined,, was introduced by Comm. Battaglia,, seconded by Comm., Koenitzer; and`pa°ssed unanimously,. . Planning Co mmission June 26', 19.6'8 LEONA`GEORGE' PARCEL MAP SITE DESIGN.REVIEW a motion, approving site design for the proposed new Carpenters Local #'9''81 .auditorium, was introduced 'by Comm .. Bat;tag ia, seconded by Comm. Perry and 'Was. approved - unan.mously.. The Commission reviewed the tentative parcel .map filed by Leona.Ge:orge for the lot split for Parcel Nos. 8-451 -22 'and 8- 451 -24. Mr. Mc- Givern s=tated that the proposed lot split would enlarge,Dr. Brockbank's property, located at 37 Mission Drive, to allow for the construc- tion of a swimming- pool. A motion, approving the tentative - ;parcel map °, • with the-condition that a final parcel 'map be, :processed through the City Engineering Department and subsequently recorded at the County Recorder's office, was introduced, by Comm,. Koen�itzer, seconded by Comm. Perry And was unanimously approved. (1670 & 1662 Laur Drive) In hi report, Mr. McGVern stated.that it was the intention of the subdivider to comply with all the set back r:equi�rements,but apparently the houses on Lots 43 and 45, while under construction, were staked improperly by the surveyor contracted to do the engineering work for the subdivision. COMMIS:SIONEA PERRY INTRODUCED THE POSSIBILITY OF INITIATING A STUDY WHICH' PROVIDE' FOR THE PARKING OF TRAILERS 'IN THE REAR OR SIDEYARD SET- BACK AREA ON RESIDENTIAL LOTS. ADJOURNMENT there being no further business to come before the Commission, the meeting was adjourned.
