HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2020-098 N.C.S. 06/15/2020Resolution No. 2020-098 N.C.S. of the City of Petaluma, California APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF THREE REPLACEMENT FIRE PREVENTION VEHICLES FROM VICTORY CHEVROLET IN PETALUMA AS IDENTIFIED IN A FORMAL BID PROCESS AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO COMPLETE THE PURCHASE WHEREAS, in FY 2019/20, sufficient fund balance exists in the City's Vehicle and Equipment Replacement Fund (Fund 7500) to cover the cost of this purchase; and WHEREAS, The City conducted a formal bid process for replacement vehicles in the Fire Prevention Bureau and the notice was published in the Argzrs-Courier on May 7th, 2020. Two automotive dealerships, both from Petaluma, provided bids for the quarter -size pickups; and WHEREAS, The Fire Department recommends the purchase of three (3) quarter -ton pickups identified as 2020 Chevrolet Colorado crew cab pick-up trucks for FPB personnel from Victory Chevrolet in Petaluma; and WHEREAS, additional costs will be associated with outfitting these vehicles to make them operationally ready for service, such as code 3 electronics, radios, striping and equipment, bringing the grand total of the completed vehicles to an amount not to exceed $195,000,000 including tax and all options; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council authorizes the City Manager to execute all documents necessary to purchase three (3) quarter -ton pickups the Petaluma Auto dealership identified in the formal bid process and the purchase of all necessary additional equipment not to exceed the amount $195,000. Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
