IVILSON for religious services from August 27 to Sept. 9. Mr'; Wilson was present talked with the Commission. His case is similar to that of Rev. Brock with the exception that they are anticipating =a crowd of 'not over 150 people. `He planned to locate at the corner of Liberty and Galland Streets. It was decided that the above location would be too :small and Mr. Neis was asked to go over some desirable lots with Mr. Wilson on August 22. The location would be subject to the approval of the City Manager. A resolution approving the application subject to approval of the location by the City Manager, was introduced by Commissioner Putnam and seconded by Commissioner. Kinne, Ayes: Commissioner Arfsten, Putnam, Kinne & De Luca Noes: None Absent.: Commissioner 1ers Application to build a duplex in anP--2 zone (south RICHARD.BILBRO side of G Street between 6th & 7th Streets), Mr. Bilbro was present to discuss his application vith the Commission. ('ranted providing he provide a minimum of 18 ft. easement improved with 2 inches of plant mix. The meeting was adjourned at 6 P.M. August 28, 1950 The regular meeting of the Planning Commission was held on Monday, August 28, 1950 at 4:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers, City Hall. Present: Commissioners Kinne, 10yers, Putnam & De Luca Absent: Commissioner Arfsten City Officials Present: Mr. Lyman The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as mailed out. The William Deiss application for a variance was WILLIAM DEISS � cancelled. The lots in question are going to have frontage on the side facing Alma Court instead of Ellis Street and will be able to maintain the proper setback. u �a it 'A 0 rn } bl 11� fi F II r. • J i P t L 6 yr +�f a ol- , I i, " i'V,r ILI �e �I The Commission asked that an opinion be.obtained from Mr. Brooks regarding the $50 fee for a variance. - -The notice of public hearing was published and the Commission would like to know whether any or - all of the fee can be refunded in such cases. Mr. De Luca received a, request for an opinion for J. L. BON Mr; Bone. He would like permission to build a house and a building of corrigated iron for - semi- industrial purposes on his lot on Wilson Street, approximately across from the fertilizer plant.. It is presently zoned R-2, and is completely surrounded by an indv -strial area. The secretary was instructed to write.to Mr. Bone informing him that the in of-the Commission is to rezone the property on the east side , of Wilson Street, presently zoned R-2, to C -2. The Commission will initiate uch action and as a result of the hearings, will bdable to inform him as to whether he will be able to go ahead with his building. A resolution was introduced by Commissioner Kinne and seconded by Commissioner Myers stating that Section R-2 on the east side of Wilson Street and north of East Court be rezoned from R-2 to C -2 and that a date for public hearing be set. Ayes: Commissioner Kinne, Myers, Putnam & De Luca Noes: None Absent: Commissioner Arf$Iten Mr.. Peebles and Mr. Booker were present. They wish to'change the catch basin which is located at Mountain View and Phillips Avenue to approximately 100 ft, southwest of Mountain View in the Booker Subdivision. The purpose is to facilitate the proper drainage of the property. Mr. Lyman said he had examined the map and from an engineering stand point, he considered it more practical for that particular situation. He. said he would write a letter to the Commission expressing the opinion which he voiced. , Since there was nothing wrong with the suggested change from a planning or an engineering standpoint, the Commission 'informed Mr. Peebles and Mr. Booker that they felt the - change could be made as planned. Commissioner Myers left the meeting at this:point. Rev. Brock, tivhose. application was before the Commission at the last meeting, was present and asked to change the •date ,shown on his application from September 10 to September 17. The meeting would be held from September 17 to October 8. The date was changed for the conveniende of the religious services which are to be held on the same parcel-of land from August 27 to September 9.. BOOKER SUBDIVISION REV. Public hearings were held on the zoning ordinance on January 9 and 23 of this year. A number of people were present who asked for changes in zoning and the Commission promised that consideraton.would be given to these requests at a later date and if changes were made in the zonings it would be at no }: cost to those who requested such changes during the public hearings. The various requests were reviewed and the following decisions made: Following is a list of requests for changes in zoning which should be given further consideration. ZONING CHANGES G. P. McNear Estate bounded by Payran Street on the G. P. McNEAR north, Jefferson Street on the west, and Edith Street on the south, be zoned as manufacturing rather than residential; A public hearing should be held on this re ueste. Mr. King representing'Thomas Cline, asked that the JOHN J. KING property of Mr..Cline between K & Mountain View on Third Street be zoned Commerciale The total frontage on °Third Street is 250 and back 256 It runs within 100 of Mountain View Avenue. A public hearing should be on this - request Asked that his lot between I & K Streets, 250 west A W. BAKER, Jr , of the property of Mc. Cline be zoned C -l. It is approximately 300 x 3001 which is 1501 east of Fifth Street and then narrows down to 80 on Third Street. A public hearing should be held on this request Asked that the entire length of Sixth Street and E Street from Sixth to Seventh Street be zoned R-1. Request will be given further consideration Would like to have more R-2 districts in Petaluma.
