APPROVAL. OF MINUTES The minutes of J'anuaary 17, 1956, were approved
as submitted.
CORRESPONDENCE Letter, dated• February 7, 1956,, from '
Development Company and signed by August Lepori,
'was read reque.st'ing that th -e C.ounc i 1 a s action
of rejecting the Commission's to
deny re.zon °i:ng of M'r. ceW'. Petersen's property
located on the corner of Payran and East Washing-
ton Street be' reconsidered and listing seven
reasons therein why said company believes the
property should `be z:'one'd residential.
Later action directed that a letter be sent to
Mr. Pet.ersei advising h.im of the correspondence
and that the matter wi1.1 be considered at the
next meeting.
� RE FOSTER CHILDREN Resolution x.47 of intention "of the City Planning
Commission in_itia-ting an amendment to Zoning.
Ordinance. J340' N.C.S., to allow f`ost'er homes in
any district after obtai -ning a use permit there-
for and waiving the ;fee for such use permit,
introduced by Commissioner Salles and seconded
by Comm:ssion.er Taylor, was "unanimously pas.sed
by all members present.
REZONING- E,.WASHINGTON ST. The matter of rezoning E. Washington St from
FROM VALLE;JO TOL HOPPER STS. Hopper to Vallejo Streets froft C -2 to C -1 zone
was next considered. Com. Taylor briefly out 7 1i;n'ed the purpose of sadd .propos,a:l which is
mainly to provide for off= str'e - et parking re.gula
ti.ons for the future widening of Ea Washing
Street A discussion followed with Mr. Harry
Clow, designer .for' Petaauma. Development Co. -who
'plan to establish a shopping center at E'.Wa:s °hing-
t.on and Val le jo Streets,, regarding the effe.c:t
of C -1 requirements. Messr§' Walter Mino:gue and
'J <L Boitano, interested, Property owners in the.
area., were present and`:seevred`..anformati:on
on C -1 regul,a,tions.. However, they were informed
that the matter would be handled through , a public
hearing, at which time opinions can be �hedrd,
whereupon Resolution #LI_8 of i;ntention..to propose
an amendment to; Zoning Ordinance #340 NCS�by
rezoning E.Washington St. from Valle to Hopper
Streets from C -2 to C 1 zo,ne., setting public
hearing d -ate for 'February 21,1956, at 7 :30 p.m.
in the Council Chambers, introd by Como E1.-
