RESOLUTION OF OPPOSITION TO AI3 2084 TRANSPORTATION DEVELOPMENT ACT
(TDA) FUNDING SHIFT TO COUNTIES
1 WHEREAS, the City of Petaluma public transit system is fully dependent upon funding from
2 Transportation Development Act funds; and

4 WHEREAS, AB 2084 (Bernie Richter) as originally proposed would allow counties to
5 unilaterally require the Board of Equalization to give TDA funding directly to the county for use in their
6 general fund; and

8 WHEREAS, even with thenew amendment, the measure would still have the potential effect of
9 crippling the City of Petaluma's public transit system by fumieling the TDA funds directly to the county
10 for use in its General Fund; p

12 NOW, TI-IEREFORE, BE
IT RESOLVED that the City of Petaluma City Council hereby
13 opposes the passage of AB 2084 and directs that such opposition be communicated to the Assembly
14 Local Government and Transportation Committees.
Under the power and authority conferead upon flue Council by the Charter of said City.
