APPROVAL OF.MINUTES Minutes of .July 3, 1956, wer approved as recorded.
CORRESPONDENCE Invitation to attend'One Hundredth Anniversary of
the founding, of 'St. Johnfs Church in Petaluma,
Calif., to be he on Sunday, ' July 29, 1956, was
read and filed.
HEROLD MAHONEY This being the time and place for public hearing on
Use Permit application of Herold Mahoney to con-
struct and operate a service station at 3 Wash"i:ng-
ton Street (corn•e;r Washington & Liberty Streets),
C -2 zone, the Chairman called for expressions. Thee'
applicant was present in behalf of his- request.
None were heard in favor or in opposition to the
application. Letter signed .by Phillip Anna,Vor
and,Helen Peoples favoring the construction of sai.d
se,.rvice station was read. Mr. Mahoney apologized to
the Commission for starting coristr on the lot
prior to applying for a use permit but explained tha
he =was not aware same, was. required in a C -2 district
The public Bearing was declared closed, whereupon
Resolution #26 - granting use permit,. introduced
by C.ommiss.ioner E1mone seconded by Commissioner
Robfogel was passed by all members present.
MR. &.MRS. WM.BADGLEY . Use; Permit ap p lication #7549 of Mr. & Mrs. Wm.
Badg ley, 917 Madison -Street, to 'conduct home for
foster children ® full. time care, R -1 zone, was next,
con =sidered. Mr. Badgley was present and requested
a limit of four foster children which was included
as a condit.i•on in ,t.,he Use Permit, whereupon Res-
olution. #.24756 granting Use Permit., introduced by
Commissioner Heyward and seconded by Comm
Brown was unanimouisly passed by all members present.
. FERRY LI'NDER Use Permit application #7788 of Perry Linder, 7.0
Jessie Lane, Petaluma, to repair non - conforming
building at 81.6 I 'D" Street damaged by fire, R -1
zone, was considered.. The applicant was p nesent in
support of his request. A poll of the Commission
was taken and by a three"to two vote a public hear-
ing was con 1dered adv' ' §ab1'e, which was set for
August 7th, 1956,, at 7030 p.m. in the Council Cham-
bers. It was .expnes7ged that a pub;li,d ,hearing would
eliminate the Planning Commission from any unjust
criticism and also give neighboring property owners
an oppo °rtun to voice an opinion on the matter.

In Pine with Chairman Taylor?"s suggestion, a
motion made by Commis'si'oner Robfog and seconded
by CommissJoner Elmore, a letter of,appreciation
and than] was directlad to be sent to Col. Davis
of Two Rock Ranch for the courtesies and hospitality
extended to the Plann.Ing :Commission while attending
a meeting at the Station on July llth,, 1956.
There being no further busln.ess, 'to come before 'the
meeting, the meeting was, adjourned.
