APPROVAL OF MINUTES Minutes of the meeting held, Fe bruary 3,, 1959 were approved as recorded, SUIT REALTY The Planning ,Director reviewed the request of Suit Realty to con.struct an apartment house comprising, 15 units., at 705 P etaluma. Blvd. South and pre- sented the staff report,. , a copy of which Was submitted and filed, Mr. Harper and Mr Suit were present on behalf of. this request. At, the request of Chairman 1. Dean, the Planning Director' reported on :the difference between apartments and `requi.rement for- each as 'set forth. in. the, Zoning Zi Or ,motels and .the. . i N A general discussion was held during which 'Commi_ssioner Stimson mentioned that since one side of 'the .apartment building wodl.d be directly adjacent to the sidewalk, this m1 fight ,possibly create 'a traffic hazard. In answer to a. question from Commissioner Ellis as to whether the proposed construction would be an apartment or a',motel, Mr:, Suit replied that thi - s could be considered a motel, but in ,order to qualify :he world have, to get mo detai The City Attorney pointed out to lylr. A letter from the. City Engineer dated February 17, 1959, concerning the Von Raesfeld property embankment, was read and filed, In additioi n, a letter from Mr. Rollins, So%ls Engineer, of San Rafael,, to Mr. Woodbury, Architect, relative to this was read and filed, After a. brief discussion, it was determined : that the con.di.l ons .of the, variance were being meet, therefore, no further a.cti.on ,is ..required on the part of the Planning Commission,. Two items appear On the Sonoma. County Planning Commission agenda concern- ing the .area in the Denman Flats, they are; Use Permit filed. by Harry Gossa.ge for a, motel and trailer park on the property located on Petaluma. Blvd, North next to Sonoma Joe 's and the Freeway running ha ck to Corona. Rd. This will c of �,. trailer court, motel, swi.mmin.g pool, comme cial stores and parking, and will be served by; a small sewage disposal Plant to be built- by the developers. TI item 'has :been held over until the land w,as acquifed. An application concerning the property across Petalumal Blvd. North. between Stony Point Road-and the railroj:d has been filed by Philip L. joerger for a use permit to d6nstruct a.. motel; containing apli oximatel 40 Units. This application will be heard at; the r next meeting. The .appli.cati.on of, M. This problem was diseussed at length, At the - conclusion of the- discussion, it - as the opinion of the Commission that a letter should' be seat - ro the Sonoma..
