Mr: King then introduced Mr;.. Foster, who operates` a. similar pool in Lodi, to
explain how a dull of th s,`type functions., , Mr. ,Foster presented a rough sketch
of the proposed swimming club for the C.ommi.ssioner.s' review and described
the swim-fhing club a =s blow se
They propose 'to .construct an olymp c type, heated swimmi fig, pool, 75 ft.. long
And 42 feet wide, with a divirng board and safety and, sanitary requirements
would be in accordance with the State law. This pool- will be entirely 'enclosed
with cyclone type fencing. There would be , underwater li lits and overhead
spotlights.
There will be a kiddie >ool which will also be entirely enclosed by' a fence.

Air attendant will supervise tthis pool within specified hours, as well as instructors
and ,lifeguards at the large pool.
At the entrance there will be, an at ,redwood building, which will include
dressing rooms, an, indoor recreation area a zd a °concession s ndo Outside
the fence surrounding the pool there will'be an outdoor recreation area which
-will include volleyball, basketball and tennis , courts, pzcn%c tables With
barbecues, outdoor patio and off= street parking to accommodate approximately
15'0 parking spaces. ,No offensive signs are. to :be constructed as this "is not to
be a, commercial pool..
The proposed, swimming club would encompass approximately 3 a.:cre`s of the

for residential homes,

Mr .Robinson' from, Lodi:, explained briefly the operation of his swimm ng.c.Iub
in Lodi and commented 'that to date: they iiav :e encountered no nuisance problems.
A general discussion was held wherein Mr. ling stated that this particular site
had `been selected because of its good oebess, level area and because the younger °
' population who vaoul'd use the pool, mdst is greater in this area thawin the older
sections of town. Another advantage of this site .is the creek. running on the back
side which caa be. used , as a di"sposa.l. for aspproxi`mately 5 to 6 thousand gallons

Regarding g the inqui =ry to whether o °r . nQt Wilmiftgton Drive ,and Carleton -Drive
would,be extended Mr.' King stated, that they would follow the wishes of` the City
En in this °respect; but these streets can be carried through without
