HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 96-244 08/19/1996Resolution No. 96-244 N.C.S. of the Ciry of Petaluma, California RETENTION OF HUGHES, PERRY & ASSOCIATES FOR EXECUTIVE RECRUITMENT SERVICES -CITY MANAGER WHEREAS, on April 1, 1996, City Manager, John Scharer, advised the City that he will be retiring on January 3, 1997; and, WHEREAS, the City Council has interviewed three executive recruitment forms for assistance in recruiting a new City Manager; and NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED as follows: 1. The executive recruitment firm of Hughes, Perry & Associates shall be retained for recruitment of a City Manager. 2. The contract shall be consistent with the services offered by Hughes, Perry & Associates in their quotation to the City. 3. In addition, their services shall include the following at no extra cost: - Conduct recruitment again, at no charge for professional fees, in the event the City Manager resigns within one year of his/her employment date. - Interview key staff members and union representatives, as well as conduct a community input meeting - Facilitate the process of establishing performance measurements for the new City Manager for the first year of employment -both Council and Manager will participate. Under the power and authority conferted upon this Council by the Charter of said City REFERENCE: I hereby certify the foregoing Resolution was introduced and adopted by the Approved as to Council of the City of Petaluma at a Regular meeting on form: ~'' Mondav.
