DESCRIBING IMPROVEMENTS AND DIRECTING PREPARATION
OF ENGINEER`S REPORT FOR FISCAL Y"EAR 2007-2008
ANNUAL ASSESSMENTS FOR
LANDSCAPE ASSESSMENT DISTRICTS
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provision of the Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972,
lwart 2, Division 15 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, the City Council
onducted proceedings and have established Landscape Assessment Districts and Authorizing
I e.vy and Collection of Assessments Pursuant tot Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972., as listed
in Exhibit A attached to this Resolution and EXi~_ihit of the Engineer's report on file with the
~'ity ~ terk.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Coouncil of the City of Petaluma,
County of Sonoma as follows:
1. The public interest, convenience and necessity re~i.ire, and it is the intention of said
Council to undertake proceedings for the levy and collection of assessments upon the several
parcels of land in said districts, for the maintenance for the fiscal year 200 7 -2008;
2. The improvements to be constructed or installed, ir~cl.admg the, maintained. thereof,
are more particularly describ~e~d for each District in 1?xhibit b of the Engineer's report on ~fil~;
3. The maintenance costs or expenses of said improvements, are to be made chargeable
upon said districts, ftae exterior boundaries of each district are the corc~posite and each
cu~isoiidated area as more pat~ticularly shown on a map thereof on ti c in the office ~~f the C~tv
Clerk of Peta uma, to whicr~ reference is hereby made for further particulars. Said maps for each.
Diarict indicates by a boundary line the extent of the territory included. in said district ar~d rsf arty
zone thereof and shall govern for all details as to th;; extent of each assessment district;
4. The Director of'Engineering of Petaluma shall he the Engineer of Work. and is hereby
directer_ to prepare and file with the City Clerk a report on the districts specifying the fiscal year
to which the report applies, and, with respect tc: thut year, presenting tha follo•vaing:
a. Description of the existing improvements and for proposed new improvements, if~
any, to be made within the assessment district +:~r within any zone thereof.
b. An estimate. of the costs of said propu~scd new improv~:ments, if any, to be~ made,
th.e costs of mainte::ance of any ek:itin_g imp~ro~~•ements, toeethe~ with the
incidental expr~nses in connection th,ere~~ith.

d. A proposed assessment of the total amount of the estimated costs and expenses of
the proposed new improvements, if any, including the maintenance of any
existing improvements upon the several parcels of land in said district in
proportion to the estimated benefits to be received by such parcels of land from
said improvements, including the maintenance, and of the expenses incidental
thereto.
5. The Director of Parks and Recreation and/or the Director of Finance of Petaluma is
hereby designated as the person to answer inquiries regarding any protest proceedings to be had
herein, and may be contacted during regular office hours at the Petaluma City Hall, P.O. Box 61,
11 English Street, Petaluma, CA 94952, or by calling 707-778-4380.
Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
REFERENCE: I hereby certify the foregoing Resolution was introduced and adopted by-the A o d to
