' of the City of Petaluma, California 1 CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF A REGULAR MUNICIPAL z ELECTION TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, NOVEMI3ER 5, 1996, 3 FOR ELECTION OF 3 COUNCIL AND 2 SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS 4 5 WHEREAS, under the provisions of the City of Petaluma Charter and the laws of the State of 6 California, a Regular Municipal election shall be held on Tuesday, November 5, 7 1996, and, s WHEREAS, there shall. be placed on the November, 1996, ballot the regular election of 3 9 Councilmembers and 2 School Board members for 4 year terms: to NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, ORDERED, AND DECLARED AS FOLLOWS: t t 1. Pursuant to the requirements of the State of California and. the Petaluma City tz Charter, there is called a~idbrdered to be held in the City of Petaluma, California, t3 on Tuesday, November 5, 1996, a Regular Municipal election forthe purpose of 14 electing~three Council members and two Petaluma Joint Union High School Board t5 ~ members for four year terms. 16 2. The ballots to be used at the election shall be in the form and content as required 17 by law; and, is 3. The City Clerk is authorized, instructed and directed to procure and furnish any 19 and all official ballots, notices, printed matter and all supplies, equipment and 2u paraphernalia that may be necessary in order to property and lawfully conduct the 21 election; and, 22 4. The polls for the election shall be open at seven o'clock a.m. of the day of the 23 election and shall remain open continuously from that time until eight o'clock p.m. 24 of the same day when the polls shall be closed, except as provided in Section 25 14401 of the Elections Code of the State of California; and, 26 5. That in all particulars not recited in this resolution, the election shall be held and 27 conducted as provided by law for holding municipal elections; and, 7/15/96 96-211 Page 1 of 2 ftes.
