HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 96-271 09/16/19961 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 IS 16 17 18 19 20 21 Resolution No. ss-271 N.C.S. of the Citv of Petaluma, C~liforni~~ DIRECTING THE FIRE DEPARTMENT, FIRE MARSHAL'S OFFICE, TO BECOME A CERTIFIED UNIFORM PROGRAM AGENCY (CUPA) WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF PETALUMA WHEREAS, Senate Bill 1082 was passed in 1993 requiring consolidation of six hazardous material programs; and WHEREAS, the Fire Department is the lead agency for Hazazdous Materials regulation within the City Limits of Petaluma; and WHEREAS, the intent of Senate Bill 1082 requires a CUPA to consolidate the six programs into one permit, one fee process and one inspection from a single government agency (the Petaluma Fire Department); and WHEREAS, the consolidation of the six hazardous materials programs to one agency will benefit the business community who store, use or dispense hazazdous materials; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the Cityof Petaluma directs the Fire Department, Fire Marshal's Office, to become the lead agency for administration of the Certified Uniform Program Agency (CUPA) within the City Limits of Petaluma.
