Summary Statement
On May 13, 2004, WR Forde completed work to upgrade the fuel pumps at the Petaluma Airport for a final
construction cost of $98,220.00. The total cost of the project was $100,220.00. Sufficient funds are
available to accept and close out the project.
Recommended City Council Action /Suggested Motion
Adopt the resolution accepting completion of the construction contract, authorizing the City Clerk to sign
and file a Notice of Completion with Sonoma County Recorder, and the Finance Department to release the
10% retention to the Contractor 35 days after the recordation of the Notice of Completion.

RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE COMPLETION OF THE PETALUMA FUEL CONVERSION PROJECT
No. 6510 -2
1. EXECUTIVE,SUMMARY
On May 13, 2004, WR Forde completed work to upgrade the fuel pumps at the Petaluma
Airport for a final construction cost of $98,220.00. The total cost of the project was
$100,220.00. Sufficient funds are available to accept, and close out the project.
2. BACKGROUND
On November 3, 2003 this project was awarded to WR Forde. The work performed
under'this contract consisted in general, of two parts.
a. There were two fuel tanks that led to two existing fuel dispensers — one, an
automotive fuel line, and the other, an aviation fuel line. The work involved
• disconnecting and .capping the existing auto fuel line and installing a T to an aviation
fuel line, to allow aviation fuel to be dispensed by both fuel dispensers. The existing
auto gas line has been purged and filled with grout. The work involved concrete
demolition, concrete work, welding and plumbing.
b. Welding the base of two existing fuel dispensers, as well as the City automotive fuel
dispenser to seal them to meet State Water Resources Control Board, Division of
Clean Water Programs, SB 989
3. ALTERNATIVES
a. Accept completion of the project.
4. FINANCIAL IMPACTS
The total cost of the,project was $100,220.00, including overhead, administration, design,
construction and contingency. Sufficient funds are available to accept and close out the
proj ect.

7. RECOMMENDATION
Adopt the resolution accepting completion of the construction contract, authorizing the
City Clerk to sign and file a Notice of Completion with Sonoma County Recorder, and
the Finance Department to release the 10% retention to the Contractor 35 days after the
recordation of the Notice of Completion.

WHEREAS, on November 3, 2003, the City Council awarded to WR Forde the
construction contract to upgrade, the existing fuel pumps, located at the Petaluma Airport,
to meet the requirements of SB 989; and
WHEREAS, on May 1`3, 2004, 'WR Forde completed all the work to the
satisfaction of the Director; Public Facilities & Services.
NOW, THEREFOR, BE .IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Petaluma authorizes the City Clerk to sign the Notice of Completion and file same with
Sonoma County Recorder, and that the Finance ,Department is hereby authorized to
release the ten percent (10 retention to WR Forde within thirty -five (3 5) days after the
recordation of theNotice of Completion.
