Summary Statement:
City staff met with representatives of CalTrans and Sonoma County Transportation Authority to discuss
possible improvements to the East Washington Street /Highway .1-01 Interchange. The lack of a northbound
free right. on-ramp continues to constrain .the smooth movement of east -west traffic on East Washington
Street. In addition, a short stacking lane on both west and eastbound East'Washin 9 ton confines the freeway
on-ramp. In addition, both on-rampscontain curves, which do not meet current CalTrans standards.
s 1
CalTrans and SCTA has :suggested that the reassignment of "existing funds could occur to, facilitate timely
construction of improvements, which when complete would improve east-west City street traffic
movements and on-and-off HighWay1raffic patterns and safety.
