A RESOLUTION OF T HE” CITV COUNCIL OF THE 'CITY OF PETALUMA
MAKING APPLICATION TO THE LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION'
COMMISSION'(LAECO)' SUPPORTING PROCEEDINGS FOR A`2 -ACRE
PARCEL KNOWN AS 1081 BANTAM WAY, APN 019- 070 -043 'PURSUANT TO
THE CORTESE /KNOX °L'OCAL. GOVERNMENT REORGANIZATION ACT OF
1985
WHEREAS,.after public review and input, the City Council of the City of Petaluma
adopted under Resolution No. N.C.S., the Negative 'Declaration for the Riva's
Subdivision; and
WHEREAS, in order to 'implement °the ^project it is necessary to annex property known as
Assessor's Parcel Number 01,9 =070 =043;
NOW THEREFORE 'BE IT;RESOLVED that pursuant to the Municipal Organization
Act (Government Code 35;000 et: Seq the Petaluma City Council hereby supports
application to the Local Agency Formation - Commission of Sonoma County for a
proposed reorganization as follows::
An annexation of an a r roxim
pp " " ately.2- acre;parcel located at'1'081 Bantam Way, known as
assessor's parcel number 0,19- 070 -043, to the corporate boundaries of the City of
Petaluma.;
Said territory at 1'081 Bantam Way °is developed with an existing single = family residence,
as described on the Riva's Subdivision .Tentative Parcel Map.
BE ITE FURTHER RESOLVED that the reasons for the requested': organization are:
1.
The property is contiguous to the City and is within the adopted Sphere of
Influence;and General Plan Urban Limit'Line of the City of:Petaluma.
2.
The City has completed' an environmental review process for the area, which
culminated' n-the,,approved Negative Declaration.
3.
The owner of said proverty'has.initiated said�annexation.
4.
By Ordinance No,, N.C.S., the City of,Petaluma has pre-'zoned, the affected 2-
acresi't6 R - 20;0,00:,

The annexation is consistent with the objectives and policie the General Plan,
as documented in the Ordinance to pre -.zone the property and the Resolution
approving 'the Tentative Parcel Map for the Riva's Subdivision.
6.
This annexation will enable: several provisions of the General Plan 'to be achieved
including. orderly improvement of City infrastructure, preservation of the city's
Urban Limit Line, and,preservation of County land use including residential and
agricultural uses.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that-the. requirements of the California Environmental
Quality Act (CEQA) and its Guidelines have been satisfied and thoroughly:addressed in
the Negative Declaration adopted by City. Council Resolution No. N.C.S., on.
September 13; 2004, and herein incorporated herein by reference.
The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed °to' file a certified copy of this, resolution.
