2 AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN APPLICATION WITH THE
3 METROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION FOR
4 ALLOCATION OF TRANSPORTATION DEVELOPMENT ACT/
5 STATE TRANSIT ASSISTANCE FUNDS FOR FISCAL YEAR 1995-96

8 WHEREAS, the Transportation Development Act (TDA) (Public Utilities Code Section 99200
9 et seq.) provides for the disbursement of funds from the Local Transportation Fund (LTF) of the County
0 of Sonoma for use by eligible applicants for the purpose of fixed route and paratransit services; and

12 WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the TDA, and pursuant to the applicable rules and
13 regulations thereunder (21 Cal. Code of Regs. Section 6600 et seq.) a prospective applicant wishing to
14 receive an allocation from the Local Transportation Fund .(LTF) shall file its claim with the Metropolitan
15 Transportation Commission; and

17 WHEREAS, the State Transit Assistance (STA) fund is created pursuant to Public Utilities Code
18 Section 99310 et seq.; and

20 WHEREAS, the STA fund makes funds available pursuant to Public Utilities Code Section
21 99313.6 for allocation to eligible applicants to support approved transit projects; and
22
23 WHEREAS, TDA funds from the Local Transportation Fund of Sonoma County and STA fund
24 will be required by applicant in Fiscal Year ] 9996 for fixed route and paratransit services; and

26 WHEREAS, the City of Petaluma is an eligible applicant for TDA and/or STA funds pursuant to
27 PUC sections 99260, 99260(a) and 99400 as attested by the opinion of counsel dated February 10, 1995.

29 NOW, THEREFORE, BE I'I' RESOLVED that the Mayor or City Manager of his/her designee
30 is authorized to execute and file appropriate TDA/STA applications, together with all necessary
31 supporting documents, with the Metropolitan Transportation Commission for an allocation of TDA and
32 STA funds in Fiscal Year 1995-96.

34 BE I'I' FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be transmitted to the
35 Metropolitan Transportation Commission in conjunction with the filing of the claim; and the Metropolitan
36 Transportation Commission be requested to grant the allocations of funds as specified herein..
